If I understand how the French and American revolutions could have had influenced the formation of modern France or the USA, I fail to really comprehend how a defeat in the Middle East could be so important to the Australian nation, thousands of miles away. I am also fascinated by the relation between Australia and its soldiers and the myths that seem to be at the core of it. I think this course is the right place to be to answer these questions.
