In the first part of a monster calls there is a boy and he has this nightmare and all these other problems, but there is another big thing, there is a yew tree, and at night it comes alive and talks and threatens the young boy. The setting in the story really helps out because it gives off a dark and tense feeling, which really improves the text in my eyes. I think that the monster will have to come to realize that he will need to know that he won't be able to scare the boy, but he needs to leave him alone because it's not working, and he isn't frightened.

I think the monster tells the boy the first story to give a sort of heads up that all of his stories don't all have happy endings. I also think he wants to see how the boy will react to the stories and see if he should have walked for him or not. I think the stories will get more unusual as they get along and so I think he started with the least unusual story so he could ease him into the other stories.

I think his grandma acts the way she does because everything in that room was very important to her. Also because she is shocked by his actions because she doesn't expect him to do such a thing like that ever. When she goes in her room I can infer she is more disappointed in him rather angry. I don't know how she will at toward him in the future though, that is still a question.

I think that Conor will tell the monster his nightmare and also about his life and I think that will be the fourth story. I think when Conor tells the story, if the monster goes walking again he will use his story to tell others that he walks for. So I think that this story means a lot to the monster.

I think that all tales show how two different thoughts/ideas contradict themselves. Like how a queen could be a good and bad witch, a prince a murderer and a savior, or even a parson could be wrong-thinking but also be goodhearted. I really think the idea of him having the two thoughts are really similar to the tales.
