Q1) When we are working with people of different background/culture, tensions/conflicts such as miscommunication due to language barriers as well as racism.

Q2) Firstly, a company should encourage open communication to its employees. This is one of the best ways to foster good relations within the workplace. Through encouraging dialogue and effective communication, its easier for everyone to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas in an open and friendly manner, to avoid unnecessary tension. Secondly, a company can organise an outing day to bond for its employees. This will help cultivate harmony as through activities and games, lifelong values like teamwork and graciousness will instill in them. Lastly, a workplace have to implement ground rules to draw a line between being tolerable and understanding. To sustain a harmonious environment, we have to tolerate one's cultural beliefs and understand their background, yet learning essential communication skills as well.

Q3) To "grow your relationship database" refers to building relationships and socialize through the appropriate effective communication skills, to broaden your social circle. This provides the ability to attract opportunities through the people surrounding you, and also maintain a good relationship be it your customers, colleague, or investors. This means you will have to be connected with people of various cultures and beliefs or background, where you will have to learn and adapt the proper way of interacting with them, having in mind that you should not act or say anything insensitive. Hence, creating a mutual understanding between different people and yourself.
