During small group instruction, we read "The Wheels on the Bus". We discussed the parts of the book (front, back, spine, pages), and the author and illustrator. We asked and/or answered questions about the book, specifically "wh" questions. "Where is the bus going?", "What makes the wheels go round and round?". Students remained engaged with with singing the song "The Wheels on the Bus" and following directions using the hand motions.

One-to-One Correspondence & Fine Motor

Students counted bears on the bus using one-to-one correspondence. This lesson can also be used to determine more than and less than. They also incorporated fine motor skills using their pincer grasp.
