When it comes to communicating effectively and quickly with students, Remind is the tool to use. Teachers can easily communicate important upcoming dates, events, tests, and assignments to students or parents without every having to give out their personal cell number. By creating a "class" on Remind's site, teachers can gain a code that students text to join in order to stay in the loop. Remind maximizes time for teachers as they can schedule announcements outside of class time and spend more time on productive matters. All become more involved in the class to a greater degree as participation is encouraged and tracked by teachers. Furthermore, stronger relationships are fostered as students can communicate with teachers in a comfortable setting. Teachers can send messages via a smartphone or on the web and recipients do not have to have a smartphone to receive messages (just a device that can send/receive text messages or emails).

Quizlet is the quintessential tool for studying and quizzing content. In many classrooms, the site is used for building vocabulary skills, and here students can either make their own study sets, search for pre-existing ones made by other users, or access study sets created by their teachers to learn material. When ready to study, students can grow in a multitude of ways. Quizlet has a traditional flip feature for one's online flashcards that serves as a great review tool. More, Quizlet has a "learn" mode that has students fill in answers based on a clue given as well as a spelling test feature where one must type the information on the cards verbatim. Students can engage with games on Quizlet... for example, one requires players to match both sides of a card under the pressure of a time limit.

Quiz games can be great engagement boosters for students as well as strong instructional tools for teachers. This interactive site is fun, informative, and competitive for students. Teachers can create their own, customized quiz for students to engage with or even search for pre-made quizzes available to use in the classroom. Kahoot! works by teachers creating a quiz on the site, projecting the quiz on a screen, then hitting "play"... thereafter, an access code will appear where students can join the Kahoot!. Teachers can monitor who joins and ensure full class participation. Questions play on the screen and students select the answer they want on their phone. Then, Kahoot! tracks correct answers and awards points to students who answered both correctly and quickly. A leaderboard is displayed and in the end, the top three scorers are shown. Teachers are able to see what concepts students seem to understand readily since the site tracks student responses. The ability to "win" the quiz creates a fun incentive to respond and show what one knows, and student engagement increases with this fun quiz game.

Youtube can show students what textbooks simply cannot. When teachers find relevant, credible videos, they open a window into a story of whatever subject is intended to be taught... new places, people, events, and experiences are able to be viewed by students visually. Youtube has the tendency to increase student engagement, and lively discussions can be fostered as students consider new information and viewpoints from the thousands of free, educational videos they can be exposed to. Teachers can create a curated set of videos for viewing through a Youtube playlist: when one video ends, another selected one can be streamed without automatically playing (potentially questionable) "related content." Youtube videos can be great for reviewing content, too. Teachers can create their own videos for students that serve as a review session that can be accessed outside of the classroom. Overall, Youtube is a source filled with educational content that teachers can use to supplement lessons and help students see outside perspectives related to class!
