I have always liked doing things in a more visual way rather then spoken and got my idea from my creative thinking class project I did back in high school, Showing off my work in sketch books and a visual model which was creative, out the box and done very well.

So we descided to pretend we were a famous podcast who are over excited and happy while recording our lines for the podcast to bring in a bit of humour along with our bands/preformaces information

We also for are intro just came together and messed about on the keyboard to see what fit and what didnt fit (trial and error) which was fun exploring and getting use to the app logicpro

I had issue saving my tune so this turned out a bit messy and smaller then I would of liked but its simple, on theme and got me thinking of what type of music I can use to make more themes of any kind

I picked the movie Alice in Wonderland in the scene where she follows the white rabbit and goes down the rabbit hole into wonderland!

I tried to make the music light, innocent, filled with curiousity and a little suspense as she gets closer to the rabbit hole using instruments such as the flute, piccolo and piano to get the effect I was wanting for this scene to work with my music (start at 0:20 and ends at 0:59)

For me I want to create music that gives off a daydreaming vibe. like you're brain is somewhere far away and thinking anything is possible.

It starts quiet and then more music adds into it before suddenly all going quiet coming back out of you're mind

The tunes are fun, festive and just have a feel to Christmas to them that I want to recreate!

So I had a look at all the songs from the movie, picked out my favourite and went from there on how to create my own tune that gives me the same feelings and sprit of Christmas

I wanted the vibe to be like what it feels like to wake on Christmas morning, going down stairs and seeing the gifts under the tree. Telling a story through music.

I wanted my music to have a soft, light, happy, festive feel as the small story goes on and capture the feeling again of being a kid waking up on xmas.

Using instruments like the piano, bells and a harp to give the mood I want to give with this piece

So we took time and discussed topics, words, interests and how we want the song to sound to try and start building up an original song (which the notes of those will be uploaded)

At this stage our song went through a bit of a big change so not all the audio sounds the same and the final set song will be in our final performance.

However all the videos share the same idea, lyric ideas and theme of loneliness and wanting quiet in and out of the mind.

We wrote them down in a booklet so here is my reflection in my words on how i thought i did in my band performance.

It shows our thoughts and feelings so soon as we got off the stage positive or not.

So we wrote things down in my book to see what worked or didnt and what people wanted and didnt want.

Everyone voiced their opinon and thoughts and helped with what the song soon became for our performance

We descided pretty quickly we wanted our band pretty early 2000s, alternative, rock, upbeat so we wanted songs to reflect that as well as being in our range and our abilites.

But its new and something we wanted to give a bash at for our project together

Not too much changed, it became longer and had more of a beat to it in my head rather then random words constructed as a song

All trial and error and seeing what works and what doesnt work before the gig

I love Amber's playing and how the set of the song was matching with the lyrics and theme also

We took time to see how exactly we wanted the song to sound and did a few trial and errors vocally

Though in our final recording i wasnt well, i think we both did a good job and the orignal came out well for first time song writting

Though if we could improve something i would say diving more into song writting and how we could improve anymore (research wise i mean) and a bit more practice outside of class so we were less nervous and shakey about our work and how we sound

I was ill when this was recorded so vocally wasnt overall my best but i still tried my best and Amber also sounded good and strong in my opinon :)

I think quite alot changed from then and to the final recorded piece and i like that, it shows the change the song went too, bit more time put into it and just doing what we thought the song needed during recording

So depsite both songs sounding pretty different, both came from the same set of Snap lyrics from weeks ago and to me its procress and liked the development the song went through in such a small time
