Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

Repetition: The repetition of shapes creates larger, different shapes which really builds the composition of the whole piece. It binds it all together in a cohesive statement.

Contrast: The contrast between the bold colors and the softer colors helps create depth in a very flat space and organises the space and creates balance.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.

The geometric shapes create an office feel but in a dynamic way. It's definitely not boring, and it's very harmonious despite the high contrast and asymmetry.

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

Randomness - the way in which they’re coloured appears to be quite random, some being solid colour and come being patterned with no seeming sense to which is which. They all appear to be posed quite randomly, with none of them having the same pose.

Movement- all of their poses make the figures appear to be in movement, they’re dancing. The movement lines beside them all enhance this image.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.

The mural is quite Fun, it uses organised chaos and bright colours to create almost the atmosphere of a party, with all the figures dancing as one. The randomness of it all move your eyes around the mural and give it a sense of interest.

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. (Differing opinions are ok for this question, list them below).

Yes I think it’s successful, it’s bold and interesting and uses bright colours well to be eye catching, As it’s got so much going on it makes you stop and look all around it and the longer you look at it the more you discover is happening.

Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes
them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

colour - the change of colour gives focus on the different shapes. The colours are not harmonious which makes the individual shapes stand out. The colours pop out.

shape - The shapes have randomness and 3D elements which show depth and really make the shapes stand out.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.
It has a very harmonious type of chaos which we were really drawn to. The mural is like a puzzle with all the random shapes and they fit together in an unperfect but perfect way.

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. (Differing opinions are ok for this question, list them below).
Yes the design is successful, we have noticed the time and detail that has went into this design from the chaos being perfectly placed.

Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

movement: the round colour wheel directs where your eye should go, and the characters look like they are swimming and floating, and they look they are connected without being connected to each other.

Colour: There is a contrast between the monochrome on the left and all the psychedelic colours in the rest of the mural. The green colour is kind of broken up with the colour wheel, there is a kind of disruption. The green sky suits well even if unrealistic.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.

Psychedelic, chaotic, engaging, telling a story, contrast, different story connected and not together.

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

The Mural has been composed in such a way that it has used the surface of the building to its maximum capacity, including the line which creates an Asymmetrical view, this creates a visual impact on the viewer as they see the scale of this mural.

The line has been used very effectively in this mural, as the white halo above the woman goes over to the other side. this creates a road for the viewer's eyes which leads them to explore the entire mural.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.

This mural has a very conflicted yet pleasing design. the straight objects on the woman face and the red splashes above the head creates an odd sense of Clashing Identities

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. (Differing opinions are ok for this question, list them below).

The design is very successful as it manages to convey such raw chaos yet is able to show a controlled and almost intriguing emotion from the viewer. the chaos in the colours and the order in the shapes help make this mural memorable and engage the viewer's imagination and creativity.

Expand on 2 of the principles in more detail - what makes them prominent, what effect does it have on the design?

Line- there’s a red line through that draws your eyes along the entire piece. This was likely a guideline for the artist when making it, however it’s been integrated into the focal point of the piece and as such works to draw the viewers eyes along through the whole mural.

Shape- circles are used consistently throughout, they’re used in the main body to create an almost slinky effect, and are used in the focal, galaxy like part of the mural too. It’s interesting to use simple shapes to create a much more complex shape.

3. Describe the overall atmosphere of the mural in a few words.

This piece has quite a mathematical, spacey feel with it’s use of repeated shapes and general composition reminds of imagery of sin/cos/tan wave maps. The focal point of the mural almost resembles a black hole, with the repeating shapes becoming more dense until it comes together into a galaxy with a burst of colour.

4. Is the design successful or not? Explain why. (Differing opinions are ok for this question, list them below).

Overall I think it’s a successful piece, it’s generally very interesting to look at, the leading line brings your eyes into the piece and once you think a little harder than surface level you can almost intemperate a meaning behind it. The use of colour as well makes for further interest on the eyes and adds depth
