U.S.A. 2020 Election

In the 2020 U.S. presidential election President Trump claimed that the election was rigged against him. He made numerous claims that the ballots were counted wrong and that they started counting ballots that didn't even exist. He started making these claims when it looked like candidate Joe Biden was going to win the election. He had "reason" to believe this because due to the pandemic they were doing mail in ballots to avoid in person contact. This year they counted the in person votes first which were mostly for Trump's reelection. The mail in ballots were counted last because of the pandemic and they were mostly for the Biden. "This election is about greater voter fraud, fraud that has never been seen like this before," said Trump in a 46 minute address posted on social media. The more Trump made false claims the more his supporters started to believe him and get furious. They started to demand recounts along with Trump. Trump got his campaign to recount the ballots which made the campaign end up spending $3 million for a partial recount in Wisconsin's Milwaukee and Dane counties. This did not end up in his favor because in the Milwaukee county recount they actually found 257 more votes for Biden and 125 for Trump which led Biden in the lead of 132 votes in that county. Trump continued claiming that voter fraud is the reason why he lost in many states but many of these allegations were debunked and dismissed.

https://apnews.com/article/election-2020-ap-fact-check-joe-biden-donald-trump-technology-49a24edd6d10888dbad61689c24b05a5
https://www.newsweek.com/trump-funded-recount-shows-more-biden-voters-wisconsin-1550932

Islam

In Mecca now know as Saudi Arabia is where now one of the worlds second largest religions originated. Islam was created around the 7th century during the time of the prophet Muhammad's life. Followers of Islam are called Muslims. The prophet of Muhammad was born in Mecca in 570 A.D. Muslims believe he was the final prophet sent by God. According to Islamic texts and traditions an angel visited him and ordered him to recite the words of Allah (God). Muslims believe that Muhammad continued to receive revelations from Allah throughout his life. Then in about 613 he started to preach throughout Mecca the messages he received. He said that there was only God and that Muslims should devote their lives to God. The main belief of Islam is that all prophets sent by Allah to humanity shared the same message, and that was the message of monotheism. Muslims accept 5 primary obligations in life which are called the "Five Pillars of Islam". Muslims have to Salah which is pray 5 times a day facing toward the Ka'bah. They also Zakah were they have donate some of their income to the welfare of the community as a whole. They Sawn which is having to fast which is basically where they have to abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, sexual contact, and they must also avoid undesirable or imperfect behavior from day from dawn to dusk. But Sawn has its exceptions for not fasting during Ramadan. Muslims also have to say a phrase known as Shahada and they also do Hajj which is something they have to do once in their lifetime, they believe it offers a chance to wipe away past sins and have a new start.

https://www.history.com/topics/religion/islam
https://catstevens.com/think/spiritual-domain/how-do-muslims-practice-their-faith/
https://apnews.com/article/middle-east-ap-top-news-religion-international-news-islam-ea35fadcfd914da6a925f24ecc4e71cb

In most cases it would be the mothers who would break her daughters' feet to restrict growth and make the feet as small as they could. If you are wondering why someone would want to bind their feet the answer would be because it was seen as an attractive feature for a women to have. It was also said to make women have a greater chance of being married and a better experience at life. In the year 1912, emperor Kangxi banned foot binding but people still continued to do so and majority of people did not stop until 1949.

Mediterranean Sea Route

The city of Venice became popularly known as a great place to commerce. A major reason for this was because of its geographical location. The city itself is positioned out on the Mediterranean Sea, and this helps with having goods shipped from Europe and Asia. From there, goods can be shipped to the surrounding continents, like Africa, Europe, and Asia. Goods included jewelry, glassware, artwork, golden coins, and much more. With Venice being in the way of trading routes between continents, the city benefited greatly from trading that occurred there, and merchants became wealthier.

Haiti Earthquake of 2010

In January 12, 2010 disaster struck Haiti. An earthquake with a 7.0 magnitude had struck Haiti and its people. And by January 24 there were 52 aftershocks that were measured at 4.5 or higher magnitude. How many were affected by this earthquake? 3 million people in total were affected. Roughly 250,000 people lost their lives, around 300,000 people were injured, and over 10% of the country's population became homeless because their houses were demolished or damaged beyond use during the earthquake. The earthquake also impacted the landscape. The natural landscape of Haiti was destroyed. Cables that were broken sparked and caused fires to break out which led to woodland areas to burn down. Even to this date people and the landscapes are still recovering from this horrible disaster that they had to face.
