Padlet provides a way for students to interact with reading and writing in different ways. Padlet is a platform that allows students to showcase their thoughts, ideas, and ways of thinking. Padlet is a great tool to read others ideas and respond. Padlet is a great digital tool to get students collaborating and sharing their own thoughts. Padlet also helps build critical thinking skills!

Reading/ Writing Activities

Digital Gallery- Pair mentor texts of readings to provide students with other styles of writing to explore.
Scavenger Hunt- Invite students to post images, videos, and texts to show understanding and make deeper connections.
Analyze Evidence- Post evidence for students to critically examine. Have students build ideas off one another.
Literature Circles- Have students post ideas and make comments on one another's thoughts about a text.

Reading Activities

Annotate text

Use Padlet to make annotations of a text. Have students interact digitally with different portions of the text to build reading comprehension skills.

Track Characters

As students read use Padlet to cite textual evidence of characters. This will help students take notes as they read and will help with further analysis of the book as they read through the text.

Story Retelling

Use Padlet to retell the story. This could be a picture book, a chapter, or longer text or book. Post pictures to go with the retelling. Have students make suggestions to one another.

Community Building- Ice Breakers, ask questions, have students post their favorite place on a map, share songs and photos.
Assessment and Feedback- Reluctant students may feel more comfortable posting their thoughts and making comments on one another's posts.
Share Ideas- Post responses in many different types of formats.
Create Collaboration- Build a board and see the connections made.
