Professionals that can help are...
-Food Scientist
A food scientist is someone who studies how food deteriorates using microbiology, chemistry and, engineering; additionally they see how many calories are in each food/what type of nutrients are in the food. The help diabetics by allowing the information for them to use, if this information wasn't accessible to them diabetics wouldn't be able to balance their diets, which is dangerous for them.
-Biochemist
A biochemist has the job of analyzing DNA enzymes, and how they react to certain substances. They help diabetics because without them, diabetics would not be able to know what medicines are healthy for them/which ones will harm them.
-Nutritionist
A nutritionist is a professional that creates special diet programs based off of their patients specific needs/characteristics.

A useful tool diabetics use is a glucometer. A glucometer is a device that takes blood from a diabetic and runs a GTT in order to determine the user's blood/glucose level. It can be useful because diabetics can use to see their blood/glucose levels and adjust how needed by taking in glucose or using insulin.
