Nice work with the preliminary assignment everyone!  I know that was a lot for the first day! Here's some announcements for the rest of the week:

Module 1 Due Thursday (3/30):  I know many of you are just getting started with module 1; keep in mind that it is due tomorrow (this class moves very fast!) so please plan on spending several hours per day on this today and tomorrow in order to complete module 1.

Discussion Moderators: The discussion moderators this week are the follow, with the last names of the posters that they'll be keeping an eye on.  Elaina Richards  (A-D) | Sarah Foreman (F-M) | Luke Robertson (N-Z).  If you're the discussion moderator, your job is to check the discussion board at least twice per day in your assigned week, and look to see if there's anyone whose questions are going unanswered or any possible conflicts or issues that have arisen, and then send me a google chat letting me know!  If you don't see issues, please still send me a message so I know you've done it.  If you haven't signed up yet, here's the link:

Module 2:  Module 2, including the 4 discussion posts and the quiz, is due Mon, 4/3!  I expect this one to take a significant amount of time, so I encourage you to work on it for several hours today and not wait until Monday when it is due.  Remember, as always, to make your 4 discussion posts per module to the message board.

Exam 1: Exam 1 is coming up on Monday, 4/10.  Some of you have pointed out your chosen testing center may not be open on 4/10.  If that's the case, you can either take it on Respondus, or we can schedule it for later in the same week at the testing center!  Just send me a message on Google Chat by Mon, 4/10 if you're doing the testing center and we can coordinate.

Drop Deadline:  The drop deadline for the course is Mon, 4/3.  If you are considering dropping the course, I encourage you to speak with an advisor Monday morning to discuss any impacts it may have on your progress on your grade.

Discussion Moderators: The discussion moderators for Week 2 are Anthony Fontes (A-C)  | Elaina Richards (D-F) | Sarah Foreman (H-M) | Luke Robertson (N-Z).  If you're a discussion moderator, you get a free pass for a quiz, however, I am expecting a daily checkin with me on Google Chat about how the discussion board for your assigned last name letters is going in order to get that.  In particular, flag any students whose questions are going unaddressed or any potential conflicts between students, and let me know!  If everything is great on your assigned letters, let me know as well.  Please check both Module 2 and Module 3's boards for Week 2 moderators.

Module 1 Make-ups:  If you're still working on Module 1, I've sent you an email about getting caught up.  I would also like you to make an appointment with me and/or Jessica Davis to discuss how to move forward, as we are almost done with Module 2, and I want to make sure you don't get behind!

Exam 1:  Exam 1 will be on Monday, 4/10.  For most of you, you will have it proctored through Respondus. If you need to instead take it at a campus testing center and/or take it on a different day, please let me know at least a day in advance; send me a google chat message.  Keep in mind that you will have a two hour time limit at the testing center (unless you have ADR accommodations in place), however Respondus is untimed, so if you think you'll need extra time for any reason, Respondus is a good way to go!

Exam 1 Review:  There will be an exam 1 review session on Thursday, 4/6 at 8:30PM.  (I know it's late, but I teach an in-person until 8PM.  It will be recorded if you can't attend.)

Module 3:  Remember that your 4 discussion posts for Module 3, and your Quiz 3, are due Thr, 4/6.  If you need extra time, send me a google chat message to let me know.

Exam 1 is today, Mon, 4/10.  Be sure to watch the exam review first, since there's a couple of problems I added that are different from the homework, and I go over how to do them in the review.

Exam can be taken on Respondus or at a testing center.  I know some of the centers aren't open today, so if you need to take it on a different day, just sent me a Google Chat message and let me know. Likewise, if there's some other reason why you need to take it on another day, let me know and we'll work something out!

I know exams can be stressful, so if you need to talk about it, I'm around on Google Chat all day. You can also post to the optional Test 1 discussion on the Discussion area or to the group chat if you just want to share about how it went with others. (Obviously, don't share actual test questions, but general supporting each other and such is welcome.)
