Aperture Priority

To change your camera to aperture priority, you have to change the dial to select the A and use the wheel below the shutter release to change the f stop number to the desired setting. A smaller f stop number (ie f/1.8) will make the aperture blades separate and only the main subject of the photo will be in focus. A larger f stop number (ie f/16) will bring the blades closer in and all of the picture will be in focus. It's best to use aperture priority when capturing images of landscape (typically deep depth of field), flowers, babies, or food (all typically shallow depth of field).
