Eyes Bees have two sets of eyes. Compound and simple. The compound eyes are the large ones that you notice when observing a honey bee. Each individual compound eye is made of many smaller eye (ommatidia) units. Each eye unit in the large eye sends an image to the bee’s brain where it is pieced into a larger picture. Bees also have three simple eyes. These eyes basically help the bee figure out where to land by using UV vision to find where the pollen is.

Bees only sting when they feel threatened, but even when they do sting, it’s usually only once. The reason for this is that honey bees have barbed stingers, which is great for stinging predatory insects, but not so great for stinging mammals. When the bee stings, the barbs usually get stuck in the skin, and when the bee pulls away its guts also get pulled out. Some species of bee such as the bumble bee and carpenter bee can sting more than once because their stingers are smooth.

In the book "Stung" one of the issues is that bees go extinct, because of this plants are dead and everything is a barren wasteland. If this were to happen in real life, it would most likely only occur to a few species of bee, but many of the crops we depend on would die. Fatigue would probably occur in poorer countries.
