The Amazon is the lung of the world, but politicians have never bothered to preserve this area. A great example is the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who since the elections has never shown interest in preservation, and with this deforestation has been turn up more and more. People question him and he get away, because for him it's profit.
Indigenous peoples and Brazilian fauna suffer, as does the rest of the world.
