It is helpful to see a health care provider and rule out any underlying condition, such as an autoimmune disorder or digestive malabsorption issues, that are causing you to lose too much weight. When you are trying to put on weight you should focus on consuming nutrient dense, high calorie foods. Food options like complex carbohydrates brown rice and oats and healthy fats including, avocados and nuts. Big meals might be an issue to eat for people underweight so more smaller meals throughout the day will do the job.
