         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>A typical day in a Montessori classroom may look different for each child, as the curriculum somewhat encompasses specific age groups.</p></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><ul><li><p>For a 3- to 6-year-old child, the teacher may place an importance on sensorial development and development of practical skills by engaging his or her students in activities such as setting a table, learning proper table manners, and manipulating objects of various sizes and shapes.</p><p><br></p></li><li><p>For an elementary student, the teacher may place an importance on language by covering reading and writing through interactive activities that touch upon grammar, spelling, penmanship, and literature.</p><p><br></p></li><li><p>A typical day in the life of an elementary school student at a Montessori school may look like a full day of classes that cover language, mathematics, social studies, science, history, geography, art, and music. In addition to this, a break or multiple breaks throughout the day to provide physical education for the students through exercise and other physical activities. Finally, if a student is enrolled in the enrichment program in a Montessori school, he or she may have a time period dedicated to drama, cooking, and even guest speakers.</p><p><br></p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>While I did not see anything specific about scholarships or the cost of tuition in the link provided, I believe that Montessori schools could address the marker of Socioeconomic status in a couple ways.</p></li><li><p>Firstly, Montessori schools could create scholarships for students specifically struggling with money rather than simply for students that show great academic achievement. The idea behind this is that students with a lower socio-economic status may not have access to as many resources as other students and thus may struggle academically due to this.</p></li><li><p>Secondly, Montessori schools could add a section to their code of conduct that includes not discriminating against students on the basis on socioeconomic status, as this is a problem that could happen in the classroom.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>The philosophy of Montessori schools is to create an environment where “children progress at their own pace with positive reinforcement that is achieved through success-oriented materials and activities, [in order to] inspire the child to develop his potential to the fullest”</p></li><li><p>This philosophy creates an equitable environment for students, in which each is given the necessary stepping stones to succeed. This may not look the same (equal) for each student, but it is equitable.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
