1. Before going in, do as much preparatory research as you can on the company, their values, and even the person interviewing you.

2. Prepare a printed out resume to give to your interviewer. It gives the interviewer something to look at and you something to reference.

3. Give the person interviewing you a firm handshake and introduce yourself. The interviewer often decides whether they will hire you within the first 30 seconds.

4. Be courteous when the interviewer is speaking with you. Maintain good posture and listen to what they are saying.

5. Do not come in with a know-it-all attitude, especially if you are young. This shows a lack of humility.

6. Demonstrate interest in the company and the position you are applying for. Be sure to ask questions of your own if the interviewer allows you to.

7. Do not give evasive answers. This indicates to the interviewer that you may be hiding something.

8. Be sharp with your answers. Even if the interviewer asks a question that requires some amount of thinking, you do not want to allow long periods of silence.

9. When discussing past employment, do not bash anyone. This shows a lack of maturity and a tendency to make excuses or blame others.

10. Speak confidently. You do not want to appear shaky or uncertain about what you are saying.

1. It is better to overdress than underdress. Recall Mr. McGee's story; the man who overdressed was made fun of a bit, but he got the job in the end.

2. Try to cover up any tattoos and take out any piercings. They may make you appear unprofessional.

3. Do not dress overly flashy. Your clothing should not be the most striking thing about you.

4. Take care of the small details. Make sure you are clean shaven, your shoes are polished, and your shirt is tucked in.

5. Research the company you are applying to. If it is a more laidback work attire like Google or Apple, you may have to adjust your outfit accordingly.
