I learned and picked up on the many opportunities available, where things and resources were located throughout the campus. I also learned some of the instructors and staff names and what they do as their job. I look forward to using the resources provided more often now that I know more about where they can be located and who to talk to for them.
The resources that I will probably use most are Declaring a major and the on campus tutoring. Declaring a major I will use to find out more about what I would like get a degree in. I want to get a degree in something that will be useful to me in the future. The second resource, tutoring I want to take to improve in math and get better at solving problems. Although I know that all really need to do is practice and study to do better, refraining from procrastination .
I will also use resources such as the Gym, Financial Aid, and Advising throughout the semester. I want to start going to the gym to get into shape. Financial aid to help with some of the expenses and learn what I will need to further my college education. This semester I hope to learn what I want to major in, what different things are offered on campus, and what extracurricular classes are available to take next semester.

We did a color code activity last class that different colors describe different characteristics about you. What I learn was that I fell into the categories of Gold and blue mostly, each told what different characteristics that you may have. Mostly gold meaning I am responsible and organized based on the gold color code. My second most was blue which meant I "value harmony, compassion, and helping other people. I learned that for the most part a lot of the characteristics are true after seeing the page about the color code.
What I learned about the whole class during the activity was that everyone had different characteristics that make them who they are or may describe them in a way. Some people in the class had one or two colors that were more prominent than other colors that had less, meaning that they had multiple characteristics that better described them.
I learned that the interaction between another person can vary their response based on their characteristics that they have.
Although I did learn a little more about myself, I don't think it will affect me too much because most of the characteristics and qualities stated I knew that I had. Some of the characteristics and qualities did surprise me because some of them I could relate to doing almost everyday.
Based on one of the characteristics listed that I have, helping others is something that I am passionate about. Especially helping out those less fortunate.
We as a class can do some kind of community service or help volunteer somewhere that may need it. We would do it for the community or the people depending on what is chosen. We can take a trip to somewhere local that may need help with something or what was discussed in class visit a nursing home to hang-out with those who can't properly take care of themselves. Another suggestion can be helping out the staff or professors at RBC. Doing something good, leaves you feeling good that you have done something right.

One of my first reactions after arriving at Richard Bland was that it was located in a different location than I expected it to be. What I expected was it to be similar to a college in a city environment, Richard Bland is unique in that way, where it is located in a good environment that is beneficial to students and professionals. Something I also found very beneficial about RBC was that everything was walking distance away.
Some of the things that are going well for me are having all the materials needed to do well in my classes and to get work done on time. Another thing that is going pretty well for me is my schedule, which I found to be very good for me because most of the classes are in the morning.
One thing that I was somewhat worried about was the amount of work that I would be given, and being able to complete it on time due to how much there would be. I found out how to manage my time better so I have time to do homework, study, do daily routine things, and sleep.
All of the classes that I have I like how they are set up in only two different buildings. I also like that all of the professors are encouraging, and want you to succeed, also giving you advice and teaching you need to do so.
Something that I dislike is Math in which I was never very good at, but always at least tried to get an average grade in. I knew that if I practiced the math problems I could do better and get better grades overall.
So far my experience at RBC has been very good with very minor things that I need to do or work on for a better experience throughout college.

Some goals that I have that I would like to pursue are to be successful in life, having a well paying job, get better at math, and travel the world. Being successful in life is a goal that will most likely last my entire life, so I would describe it as SMART, although it isn't very specific, I think that it contains all of the other qualities of a goal. It may seem broad but it is a goal that I would probably put first if I were to make a list. Success is something that can be measured in various ways, and everyone has their own thoughts and opinions on being successful. Another goal is having a well paying job, which is a small portion that could relate to success in life to me. I think that having a well paying job is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant in the future, and time limited. I stated a well paying job because I want to be able to enjoy life and provide for my family, I know it is far fetch thinking but it is SMART to think about stuff like that sooner than later. A goal that I still have trouble with achieving is to get better at math. I always wanted to get better at math, but I didn't like studying or practicing it. The difference that math has compared to most other subjects is that every question has a different answer, so for me I had to practice to get better. I think that getting better at math is specific, measurable given the time I spend studying, achievable, relevant because it is something that I use now and will continue to use, and time limited to where it can be achieved within a time limit. I would like to travel to different places in the world to meet new people, experience different cultures and traditions, and try new food. Traveling the world would also be another goal that I will try to achieve in time.

If I reach all the goals listed then I will have to make new goals to achieve and also learn how I reached the listed goals in time. I would be amazed and proud of myself if I achieved the goals fully. I would be very happy almost all of the time knowing that I achieved my short term and long term goals. I plan on being successful by various different things and achievements in life. I can attain a well paying job by working hard, being disciplined, and have skills for the job. A well paying job being something like a lawyer, a doctor, or an engineer of some kind. I would like to have a well paying job as early as possible, I'm hoping I have a well paying job, that I can also enjoy by age 30 or maybe a little later. I can get better at math by studying the formulas and practicing problems. Lastly traveling the world I hope to do once I have the money and ability to do so.

Last class we learned about what it takes to build a resume. Some things that I learned that should be included on your resume are topics such as skills, education, achievements, activities, experience, and other employment positions. I also learned about the mistakes that you should avoid making when writing your resume. As an example things like grammatical errors and putting too many personal interest instead of things that employers actually look for.

In my resume I would include some of my S.M.A.R.T. goals that I would like to pursue one day. S.M.A.R.T. goals such as earning my degree, participate in more activities/events in college, and also find a job for the summer. I hope to get my degree after graduating from my transfer college. Throughout the semesters that I attend RBC I hope to participate in more activities and events, which should be reached by getting more involved with things around school. This summer I will try and find a job that I can do to make a some money and save up to buy a car.

Earning my Business degree in my transfer college is specific, measurable to what I want to do in life, achievable, as well as relevant because it is a goal that I can reach by working hard, and time based being that within a given amount of time I can complete it. Participating in more activities and events is a goal that is specific, that can be measured, achieved by participating more, relevant to what I want to do to get more involved, and timely being that it can be attained within a time limit. Finding a job for the summer is something that I want to specifically do, can be measured, achieved by applying to more places and calling back more, relevant because I want to earn more money to save up for a car, and time restricted for it to be achieved by the end of the summer.

In order to reach my goal of getting my business degree I need to take the necessary classes and also do well in them. To reach my goal of participating in more activities and events I would just need to attend them more often. My next goal being to find a job for the summer, which can be achieved by applying early to places and calling them back frequently to let them know that I still want the job.

Each goal would benefit me differently, a business degree to help me get a job in a field of business, attending more RBC activities and events to be more socially active with things around the school, and find a job for the summer so I can save up money to one day buy a car
