My thoughts after going through today's evacuation exercise by Annie Lim Hui Meow

My thoughts after going through today's evacuation exercise. All of us think Singapore is a very safe place and that the news of gunman, terrorists attack would not reach us. It is good that we are living in a safe country. However, regardless of the high safety standards, we must never take it for granted. Don't you think we should be prepared too? Let's share your thoughts after participating in today's exercise. If you have questions to ask, state them here too. It is important to hear you out. (AIM TO WRITE AT LEAST A PARAGRAPH of 5 to 6 LINES)

We may not know when we will be under attack but we must always remain vigilant. When something like this happens, everyone must remain calm and act calmly. I also think that the evacuation drill is very important as it will teach us how to react in a situation like that. I think that most of us did not do very well as we ere heard talking to each other and some did not take it seriously. Some of them even took things from other classmates. I am glad that Singapore is a safe place.

I think that we should always be prepared because we never know when there will be a terrorist attack. I agree that Singapore 🇸🇬 is a safe place but that does not mean that we can take it for granted because at some point of time, we may be under attack. The evacuation drill allows us to learn to remain calm and know how to react to a situation like that. If something really happens, at least we know what to do to remain safe.
I also find that many of us do not take the drill seriously, and we kept talking to each other and thinking that it is just for fun and nothing will happen to us. I think that we really can improve on our next evacuation drill(if we have)and not make so much noise if not when people really attack us, we might not even survive. 😬
But I still hope that no one will attack us 😅.

I also think that the evacuation exercises are essential for our safety and will be able to prepare us for an emergency. The evacuation exercises are for us to be prepared and aware that anything can happen and we have to be vigilant. Whatever happens, we have to remain calm and know how to react and make sound decisions in a dangerous situation.
I think in today's exercise, we were not taking the activity seriously at all and did not put in much effort to stay quiet and try to think about how we would act in a real situation. I hope that for the next few evacuation or lockdown exercises, everyone would be more cooperative and responsible.

I think that we should always be prepared to defend our own country although it is very safe, especially when we are surrounded by Muslim countries with members of ISIS. However, we may not be able to resist the attack of the Nuclear Bomb. Once a Nuclear Bomb touches down on Singapore, everybody is practically dead by then. Actually the most vicious country is North Korea, with the weirdest weapons and most evil-hearted people.
People of Singapore may think that Singapore is now very strong in their defence. However, nobody knows, maybe the ISIS could be planning a huge attack on Singapore.(CHOY! Touch Wood)
Although Normal people like you and me can't do much, but at least we still can help,. For example, when you spot a bomb you can immediately fish out your phone and call the police and inform them about it. If the situation at that time is that the bomb is about to explode, just throw it to the nearest grass patch or empty ground so that the bomb will hurt nobody.
Upon talking about this, I'm however still have confidence in Singapore to be able to be able to handle ISIS attacks.
I think that for today's evacuation exercise we did really bad. Firstly, nobody took this drill serious as they knew that this is fake. Secondly, many people were making noise in the classroom and complaining that they were very hot. Thirdly, everybody was moving around and making noises with their foot-------this will cause all of us to be dead.
I hope that everybody will take the evacuation exercise more seriously in the next one.

We must also defend our country, as we are surrounded by Muslim countries like Malaysia, Indonesia. Yes, I heard the terrorists are heading for Singapore's Yishun MRT Station. But, North Korea may be one of ISIS if they are not careful. They had the most evil-hearted people, most powerful weapons, and a strong dictator. Today, during the evacuation exercise, since I was hiding with fourteen others behind the library cupboard, it was quite noisy. The kids way behind were taking this exercise a laughing matter. I shushed them and lied to them that the police were outside of the classroom, to keep them safe so that Mr Zhou or Mdm Quah will not pull them out. Of course Singapore is safe as the tight security, I had to refrain myself for smacking the backsiders with the CL Exercise book. So please, be safe, be careful, be VIGILANT.

Although hiding in the classroom was extremely uncomfortable, it is important that the school keeps us prepared for when a real attack happens. ( But hopefully none would occur) It was really noisy with whispers and shushing but it was dead silent whenever there was footsteps or voices heard along the corridor. I cannot say that I was quiet, as sometimes i had to cough. But I also contributed in the talking and laughing a little. I aim to not talk next time. But the doors and windows are not bulletproof, and modern day terrorists will have guns. In a real attack, how do we protect ourselves from the bullets? We also forgot to close the windows so the terrorists can stick their hand through the window. And if we smack their hand, well............
I hope that Singapore will stay safe in the coming years

Being prepared is essential for any kind of emergency as we will not know what will happen to Singapore anytime, anywhere. We need to be alert, be vigilant and stay untied always . I absolutely agree that Singapore is safe and we should never take it for granted. We should never have the thinking that "Nothing will happen to Singapore" as we will never know/predict what will happen. After the evacuation drill, I learnt a very important lesson: Take any evacuation exercise seriously, otherwise our life will be at risk when real emergency occurs.

After participating in the evacuation exercise, I agree that we need to be prepared. As a student, I feel very lucky to be born in such a safe country. However, even though Singapore is known for its high safety standards, we cannot take risks. Gunmans and terrorists are potential risks. Besides, Singapore is such a small country that it could be a piece of cake for them to take down our country, which is why I strongly believe that we all need to be prepared. For instance, if we see any suspicious behaviour, we should call the police. We must be vigilant and if real emergencies do happen, I think we should work together to solve it and help others who are in trouble. I was thankful that the evacuation drill was only a practice. We all were not patient and resilient. Some people were complaining about it being hot while others say that it was squeezy. Being able to find a hiding spot is considered to be very lucky already. It wasn't very quiet. We should all do our part to ensure the safety of Singapore. Everyone has a part.

Despite Singapore having high safety standards, we must not simply assume that no harm will reach Singapore. Terrorists attacks and bombings are unpredictable and can happen at anytime and anywhere. We should be prepared and have safety drills in order to prepare us for such events
After having this drill, I think that our school should be more alert towards such events and that we should be more serious about the drill

Although Singapore is a safe country, but you never know when incidents or terrorists attacks will happen. We should stay alert and inform our neighbours, family and friends when disasters happen. We must also keep calm and not panic. This way, the terrorists will not find us that easily.

I think in order to stay safe from gunmen, terrorists attack, we must be vigilant and stay alert of suspicious character. We also cannot trust everybody as a terrorist can always be your friend, your family, your relatives, a friend you meet online, or even a innocent-looking citizen on the streets. If schools in Singapore or even schools in other countries organise more of these safety drills, students will know what to do when a terrorist attack happens in the worse case scenario. I hope that other gunmen and terrorists brought to justice.

I think we should take the whole evacuation exercise seriously as we would not know when the terrorists would attack and we all have to be vigilant. Even though Singapore is a safe country, we should not take risks as there was already some terrorists attacks happening in Singapore. I think this evacuation exercise is good for us as whenever there is a attack, we know easily what to do. We should also warn our family and our friends and always help one another during aattack.
