I teach ICT in primary school.
The school I work at is quite big and located at Heraklion (Crete). There are about 370 students aged 6-12. My classroom is a computer lab with 12 PCs.
My students work in groups and use ICT in several projects. My aim is to encourage them to engage in science topics and acquire scientific inquiry skills. To achieve this aim, i use different online resources, online labs and inquiry learning applications.

The videos and the resources were very informative. I understood what PBL is and the differences from assigning projects. I look forward to learn how we can plan every step of the learning process e.g. how the teams are formed or how we can be supportive nd effective in a a large number of students.

1.2 Why PBL is not used more widely in our education systems?

I believe that the basic reason is that education systems follow a strictly detailed curriculum that do not leave the room for change. Also teachers are being pressured by time to complete specific goals, they are not properly trained and they are afraid of the new αnd the unknown. The lack of adequate infrastructure is also an inhibiting factor.

1.4 which of the 5 components (collaboration, core to Learning, real-world connection, student-drive, assessment) will be the most challenging for me to realize and why.

I think that all components are of crucial importance. Maybe the most challenging for me is the collaboration because a lot of students when working in a team try to avoid work by leaving other members of the team to do all tasks.
