-"Schools - Primary Languages - Spanish - Families - Photos." BBC. BBC, n.d.

I have seen many differences between Spanish and my native language, which is English. First one obviously being the fact that they are two completely different languages, so they are going to look, sound, and be said differently. The second is the grammar. There are many variations between Spanish and English, but grammar is probably one the biggest. In Spanish, you say words in a different way than in English. For example, in English we would say, “the boy walked through the door,” but in Spanish you would say, “through the door the boy walked.” Plus one of the things that really stick out to me are all of the “el” and “la” that are in front of words. I swear, I have to put four or more in each sentence. It’s a bit crazy.

-"Creating in Spanish vs. Translating to Spanish." The Victory Group. N.p., 05 May 2013.

I find many things interesting and exciting about Spanish culture, but one thing does really stick out at me. The food. I love food, heck I’m named after Spain’s most famous spice, and Spanish food is really cool to read about because it says a lot about the culture and how their society works. A lot of Spanish food isn’t that heavy because in Spain, many of the people eat more than three meals a day. They usually eat about five small meals and some snacks, plus they have their siesta, which is an afternoon nap. I love to hear and read about what the food is, what it is made of, and how it is cooked. I myself have never had paella, but boy does it sound so good. I would love to go to Spain and try it one day.

-Roden, Claudia. "Seafood Paella." Epicurious. N.p., 07 June 2011.

If I were to continue to study the Spanish language, I would hope to learn enough fluent Spanish to be able to live in a Spanish speaking country for a year. When I am older, I want to travel around the world and live in certain places, and I have always wanted to live in a Spanish speaking country for a year. So if I were to keep taking some Spanish courses, I would hope that I would learn enough Spanish to be able to do this. Plus I have always thought that being bilingual was such a cool thing, so being able to learn enough Spanish to classify myself as being bilingual would be awesome. Also, one more thing I would like to learn is the mythological history. If there are any myths or supernatural stories in any Spanish speaking culture then I would love to learn about them.

-MotorX24. "EL CHUPACABRA (CRYPTIDE) (FR)." YouTube.

Learning a language in an online class can be both furiously annoying or very languid and simple. I enjoyed this course for the fact that we got to learn in depth about the Spanish culture. The setup of the course was simple for the fact that the assignments were set and you knew what you had to do. However, there were times in this course that I did not enjoy. For example, my brain could not wrap around one of the lessons that we learned, preterite and imperfect. I could not for the life of me make sense of how they were used, when to use them, and even trying to remember to conjugate or write them was hard enough. However, after about two units of having to deal with them, I was able to get a better grasp on the concept of preterit and imperfect.

-"Preterite vs. Imperfect." Zambombazo.

Taking this course, I had many likes and dislikes. My biggest like about taking this course, like I said earlier, was learning about the Spanish culture. The way that Spain works is very different from the way that America works and it fascinates me. I like to learn about the people and what they do, and my favorite thing to learn about is food so to learn about the different types of food that is common in Spain was very cool. One of my dislikes of this course however, like I also mentioned earlier, was learning about preterite and imperfect. It was definitely a time where my grade didn’t look as good as it should because I had trouble trying to keep up with preterite and imperfect. They were definitely a tricky thing to handle.

-"Spain Facts for Kids." All about Spain for Kids | Geography | Travel. N.p., n.d.

Definitely throughout the course I had to do some stuff to help learn and improve on my Spanish. To help learn the Spanish, I had bookmarked all of the vocab that we got in the course so that I could look at it frequently to memorize and learn. If I had trouble remembering a word, I would look at the vocab to see what it was. One part of the course I had to improve on, however, was the listening. I am a person that does hear Spanish and make sense of it well. That part of the quizzes was the hardest part. However, to help myself improve on it, I would look at the vocab we got and listen to the recording, and I would also check to see if my teacher had put any videos in and about Spanish in the announcements. Those really helped.

-"7 Reasons To Learn A Foreign Language." Odyssey. N.p., 18 Jan. 2016.

My teacher was definitely a big help when it came to helping me learn Spanish. Like I said earlier, she would put videos in the announcements and they would help me learns tons. She was also a very cool person in the fact that you could text her and she would give you help with what you needed very quickly. I however was not a very big texter, but the few times that I did, she would respond back in that hour with something helpful and encouraging. I really don’t think there was anything she did that wasn’t helpful or that there was something that she could do better. She pretty much had everything in check and made this course a very laid back one.

-Bantikyan, Hovhannes. "Հեռախոսով խոսելը վարակիչ է." MWnews.am. N.p., n.d.
