In the book The Children of The King a worm dug into his brain and ate the skin, blood and gnawed at his bones. My reaction to this was confused on why this had to happen . The book stated that the worm was taking away all of his powers by eating his brain. He mentioned that he felt unappreciated. Neglected and deprived which showed how it made a difference in him. I can relate to this because when someone is left out you feel almost like the way he felt.

I thought that if I was in this situation I would be scared to go even if I was with my brother because neither of you would have no clue where to go or what to do because of how they had to be sent there because of the war. I think that either way they will figure it out and be able to soon see their parents.

At first I thought it was to keep them safe from attack but then I stared thinking that it could be so that people don't have to worry about people looking at them and spying on them which can explain my point on being safe. On the other hand I think this could be a bad idea if someone needed to get in and they weren't sure who it was and if it is someone who is bad it wouldn't be safe.

My reaction to this was a little scared and nervous because if something bad happened like if they died or ran away it would ruin their friendships with the girls but if nothing happened people could still be worried for no reason which is never a good thing for someone. On top of that there is also a war going on which could also have something to do with why they had said that.

I thought that this was weird because before in this book Cecily has never said something like that and I thought that either she was making a guess on what it was going to be like based on the weather at that point or she could've been trying to tell the future. This sounded scary to me but at the same time it maybe sense. If all the ordinary generals got shot they would need more to help work and be generals so France can stay safe. At the same time I thought it was weird because if the ordinary generals knew that about themselves wouldn't they want to fancy generals instead? Overall I think that it should be equal but some can have different jobs but all be working equally.

There were some characters that were both main characters but the one that I thought that I could explain the most about was Cecily. I would describe Cecily as kind, a problem solver, makes people feel happier when their sad and can easily be able to take good care of people and lead the way. In my opinion I think that Peregrine and Jem are secondary characters because they both follow along with Cecily daily and I think that they are important because they both are usually with Cecily and are included in little situations that occur. The problem or conflict in the book is that peregrine, Cecily and Jem along with a few others are on their own during the war. Cecily is not trying to solve the problem I think that she is mostly trying to stay away from it. I like that they are getting along with each other and the problem is the same since the beginning so it's good how I'm familiar with it and know what it is. What I don't like about the book is that it can be confusing at times because everything switches so quickly and it isn't explained as much as it should be to make it so that people can understand.

Current page #: 47
Character Name: Toby
Claim: Although Toby is still a puppy he knows what is going on around him and his environment.
Evidence/Data:
1. "Senorita is outside again, but where did Fast go?" (Toby 35)
2. "What is this white collar around my neck?" (Toby 40)
3. "Mother is always waiting for me to cuddle wit her in the same spot." (Toby 43)
Warrant:
Although Toby is still a puppy he knows what is going on around him and his environment. In the book on page 35 Toby said "Senorita is outside again, but where did Fast go?" This line explains how quickly Toby realized his sister was no there anymore. Toby immediately assumed things like her running away or getting lost. Next on page 40 Toby explained "What is this white collar around my neck?" This shows how Toby somewhat knew what was going on and thought that it was a big collar around his neck from his surgery. Also Toby saw most of the other puppies with cones too which made him think that was what was on him. Finally on page 43 Toby stated "Mother is always waiting for me to cuddle wit her in the same spot." This supports the idea of Toby being smart with his environment and who is with him and where along with him remembering where she is. Another thing is that he is learning each day about what he is and what he isn't supposed to do. All in all the data provided can show that just by the way Toby thinks as a puppy makes it seem like he will be smart and very knowledgeable as a dog in the future.

#1- Alex Morgan is a very positive girl. She loves sports and overall being with her friends and family of course if it involves sports. She is always up to do anything and is always on the go. Alex never negative about what happens and she knows everything happens for a reason.
#2- My favprite part abput the book is when Alex got back into playing soccer again. She had torn her ACL and couldn't play for about 5 months. But she was always hopeful for the future and that she would be abel to play again.
#3- The part that caught me by surprise was when she had gotten even better after getting hurt. It really shows her want to play and love for soccer. My prediction was that she was going to play soccer again but not be as determined as she was before.
#4- An important lesson I learned is that you always have to stay positive, determined and have hope that everything happens for a reason. Just because you get hurt doesn't mean that you can't follow your dreams.
#5- My feelings about the theme of the book is that there is a lesson for everyone to learn throughout their lives. They don't have to get hurt to learn the lesson. Staying determined is key in the theme of this book and never be discouraged or negative.
