In this assignment I found a neighborhood right off of campus that I have never been to. I am used to staying near/on campus or downtown and never adventure out much. I left campus and headed east to 1500 E where I found a nice little street full of life. This street was in between Yale crest and Sugar House park and was only about 5 minutes off campus grounds. Amazing! Somewhere small, local, and all around good spots to check out! I found that in this assignment a lot of people were doing things they could fix in the neighborhood and I couldn't pass this thriving opportunity. This is what I found...

Einstein Bagels!

Everyone knows and loves Einstein Bagels! What a great location for a breakfast/coffee shop! It's like your driving through a neighborhood, pass a school, and then stumble across a hidden gem on 1500 E. This really gave me a community based sense. People were outside eating, sitting with their friends and dogs, it was awesome. I felt a great sense of relation and friendship within this community/area.

Fresco Italian Restaurant!

Wow! Amazed with this street to say the least! Right across the street from Einstein Bagels is an Italian food restaurant called Frescos. This place is covered in vines, as seen in the picture, and compliments Einstein Bagels perfectly. For breakfast, Einsteins, and for dinner, a glass of wine and pasta at Frescos! I was curious and went in to check out their menu, absolutley delicous stuff! Again, I felt a stong sense of community while talking to the host at Frescos. The blend between fine dinning and casual dinning was apparent through some of the people in the restaurant. Very strong sense of community and wealth within the neighborhood.

Mi Buena Vida Restaurant and Bar

Wow! As I said... this neighborhood is awesome! If your not feeling Italian then maybe its a Mexican food type of night. Right next to Einsteins is this very cool, groovy, up beat Mexican food restaurant called Mi Buena Vida. Very cool to see such a small strip in a neighborhood have several different options for food. This gives the community life! Options for everyone as well! Awesome sense of inclusion and diversity within the little strip on 1500 E.

Diversity at it's finest! Not into Italian, not into Mexican, well what about Middle Eastern? This diversity of restaurants in such a small area give the neighborhood a welcoming presence. Right to the right of Fresco Italian! Sensing that this neighborhood is very well diverse and cultured is the feeling I had when I visited. Again, community engagement
