To be quite honest, I didn't realize there was a difference between education and school until this chapter. I think that the purpose of school is almost a complete opposite to the purpose of education. Education really is all about the learning process and what is being learned, and school is just the place/system used to enforce it, which is what students typically hate, not the learning itself. I was surprised at how much I was oblivious to. I didn't realize how foundational the elementary years are in our education because without those years of learning how to function as a member of society, and how to learn in a classroom, school would have been very difficult.
