Advantages of HYDROELECTRICITY:-
1. It is a cheap source of energy:
Even though the installing of hydropower plants can cost a lot, the costs of maintenance and operation are comparatively low. Hydroelectric power plants are up and running, they have insanely long lifespan. They can last between 50 to 100 years.

2. It is a renewable resource: The main advantage of hydroelectricity is that it is a renewable resource which means that it can be used over and over again.

3. Eco-friendly: Hydroelectric power contributes small amounts of greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere. When compared to fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gasses, it’s by far the cleanest.

Disadvantages of HYDROELECTRICITY:-
1. Disrupts aquatic ecosystems:
Hydro power plants are typically constructed across rivers, and this can interfere with aquatic life and result in their huge scale devastation. There is a huge probability that the fish or other river animals may find their way eventually into the turbines where they will be exterminated.

2. Construction needs a large area: To be able to construct a dam, install power production units, plus transformers, and tether them to the main grid requires a large piece of land. 

3. Uproots human populations: Because construction of a dam takes up a large chunk of land, it forces relocation of humans.

~Advantages~
Water- hydro-electricity
1. Its a renewable resource
2. Cheap cost, the management and machines in order to creat hydroelectric is very cheap because it is a natural process and it doesn't need to be purified.
3. Very flexible- can be directed to meet variation of demand.
4. Extra power generator- When in time of blackouts this can be of greater use that assists in bringing equilibrium between the demand and supply of electricity.
5. Economical advantage- When hydropower is introduced to remote areas that lacked the resource, it promotes commerce, industry, and assists build up infrastructure and upgrade existing ones such as roads and navigation.
Sub point: The local economy is also propped up by the creation of new jobs, recreation, tourism, and investments.
6. Water supply from all sources- Nonetheless, in the course of converting moving water into energy, rainwater is harvested and utilized for irrigation and drinking.

~Disadvantages~
1. Disrupts the aquatic ecosystems-
The cycle of an ecosystem gets disturbed due to immense extraction of water from a specific ecosystem through the transfer of water in the process many aquatic animals die.
2. Large Space needed/ Requires high-quality materials
To be able to construct a dam, install power production units, plus transformers, and tether them to the main grid requires a large piece of land.
The dams could break if the the material used to build it is not high quality, which can ultimately lead to mass destruction.
3. The risk of drought-
When there is prolonged drought, rivers tend to dry up, which means no or less water for electricity generation. When this happens, power rationing becomes the order of the day and electricity prices tend to become significantly higher.

Examples:- Solar and Wind Energy, water, sunlight, wind.
There is so much available that human consumption cannot affect the quantity.

ADVANTAGES of WIND ENERGY:
  • It does not generates with no air pollution emissions as it is a clean fuel source. 
  • It is cost-effective. It is one of the lowest priced energy sources available today 
  • Wind turbines can be built on existing areas, farms, and ranches. This benefits the economy in rural areas. 
  • It has diverse applications
  • It can be harnessed in all areas of the world and is available every day. We cannot run out of solar energy
  • Revenue can help local economies. 
  • Solar energy systems generally don’t require a lot of maintenance.
  • Better technology
Example:  2ind turbines in the United States generated about 2% of total U.S. electricity generation. Wind power represented 25% of all new U.S. electric generation capacity in 2010.
DISADVANTAGES:
  • The initial cost of purchasing a solar system is fairly high.
  • It is weather dependent 
  • Use of space - The more electricity you want to produce, the more solar panels you will need.
  • Turbine blades could damage wild life.

HYDROPOWER (hydroelectric energy):
Some advantages are clean fuel source, domestic energy allowing each state to produce their own, way more reliable than fossil fuels, food control, irrigation, and water supply. It is pretty safe compared to the other resources as the only fuel involved is water. A few disadvantages of this renewable resource is that building power plants in general is expensive, and hydroelectric power plants are not an exception to this. It is directly related to how much water is available. Hydropower can impact water quality and flow. Hydropower
dissolved oxygen levels in the water. The risk of drought is also there.

SOLAR ENERGY:
Adv) Solar power provides energy reliability. Solar power creates jobs -
Solar PV panels helps save money.  Money invested in solar power creates two to three times more jobs than money invested in coal or natural gas.

Disadvantages- The sun actually does shine when we need electricity most. When the sun goes down or is heavily shaded, solar PV panels stop producing electricity. If we need electricity at that time, we have to get it from some other source. In other words, we couldn’t be 100% powered by solar panel

NUCLEAR POWER
Advantages:
Less use of fossil fuels means lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
 less fuel offers more energy. It represents a significant save on raw materials but also in transport, handling and extraction of nuclear fuel.
Nuclear power does not depends on natural aspects.
It's an alternative to fossil fuels, so the consumption of fuels such as coal or oil is reduced. This reduction of coal and oil consumption benefits the situation of global warming and global climate change. By reducing the consumption of fossil fuels we also improve the quality of the air affecting the disease and quality of life.

Disadvantages:
One of the main disadvantages is the difficulty in the management of nuclear waste. It takes many years to eliminate its radioactivity and risks. Nuclear plants have a limited life. Probably the most alarming disadvantage is the use of the nuclear power in the military industry. The first use of nuclear power was the creation of two nuclear bombs dropped on Japan during World War II.

Some examples of Non-renewable resources and their advantages and disadvantages.

1. Coal : Coal is an example of a a Non-Renewable Resource that comes in the category of Fossil Fuels.  Coal is a type of energy that produces a great amount of Carbon Dioxide, causing pollution as well as Global Warming. Its a fast depleting resource which is consumed in great quantities and could eventually run out. Also, the fossil fuel even send out great amounts of radiations and can cause several health issues too.

Advantages of Coal :
* Coal is an affordable resource in comparison to the other fossil fuels.
* Coal is easy to burn or highly combustible
* Coal is inexpensive
* Coal is a reliable resource
* Its a full-time energy resource

2. Oil:  Oil is again an example of an fossil fuel. Its commonly known as petroleum. Again , if we use great amounts of oil , it would eventually run out. Also, Burning oil would lead to the emission of carbon dioxide leading to climate change and impacting the air around us entirely. Adding , the production of energy from oil becomes extremely expensive in comparison to the other fossil fuels.  Also, there are several instances when there could be oil leaks while transporting the oil over seas. Oil leaks can lead to the death of the animal kingdom in water. 
 
Advantages of oil :
* Its easy to transport due to it's liquid form.
* It can be produced anywhere
* Constant power source and extremely reliable

3. Natural Gases :   Natural gases are one of the most abundant fossil fuels that exist today. Today, people wish to move from coals and oils due to their production of pollution. natural gases are usually extremely flammable and can cause significantly greater damage. Like other fossil fuels , Natural gases tend to produce great amounts of Green House gases adding on to the pollution rate of the country. Also, In order to transport the natural gases , we require special sort of pipes however they are extremely expensive.

Advantages of Natural gases:

* Abundant resource availability : Natural gases are available in great quantities all over the world.

*  Cost efficient :
Natural gas vehicles are far more energy efficient, as are other engines powered by it – which makes them cheaper to run. Given that most of the engines in the world of all types are gas based, the cost of converting or replacing them is prohibitive. It is most common used fuel in homes for heating and cooking purposes.

    Disadvantages :
    •  Firstly, constructing turbines and wind facilities is extremely expensive.

    • It is not renewable, there’s no endless supply.

Some of the pros of fossil fuels are that they are safe to transport. They can be transported on large trucks or pumped through large pipes below and above the ground. Also they are completely stable. They contain carbon and hydrogen molecules, making them highly stable. And most importantly fossil fuels are able to satisfy the needs of the world population means they are bountiful in supply. Fossil fuels are found in almost every country in the world. However, fossil fuels have some disadvantages. Environmental pollution is one of the major disadvantage of fossil fuels. It is a known fact that carbon dioxide, gas released when fossil fuels are burnt, is one of the primary gas responsible for global warming. Unlike renewable energy resources like solar and wind, accidents involving fossil fuels are highly dangerous and can cause massive damage. Oil spills lead to pollution of water bodies and death of aquatic animals including those living offshore.
