Several changes occur throughout infant motor development. Infants generally double their birth weight in five months and triple it by their first birthday. During the first year, their height might be raised by roughly 50%. Muscular activity characterizes motor development, resulting in changes in posture, mobility, and synchronization of motion with the infant's sensory system. Gross motor abilities of a 12-month-old kid include the capacity to walk freely, move sideways and backward, crawl upstairs, and climb stairs with help. Infants have severe physical growth throughout their first two years of life, which is referred to as physical development. Throughout the cephalocaudal growth stage, the brain regulates essential processes such as heartbeat. The average length at 12 months (one year old) is between 28.5-30.5 inches. The average size at 24 months (two years old) is about 33.2-35.4 inches. Proximodistal Development is a development pattern that starts in the middle of the body and proceeds to the extremities. This pattern may be seen in the early development of muscular control over the torso and arms as opposed to the hands and fingers. One physical development feature that differentiates as children become more particular and unique as they grow.

Learning, L. (n.d.). Lifespan development. Lumen.

Good nutrition is essential for healthy growth and development throughout the first two years of life. Establishing healthy nutrition practices at a young age can help youngsters establish healthy eating habits. Infants who do not receive adequate nourishment may not develop their physical potential and may suffer cognitive and social repercussions. Numerous nutrition problems can be avoided with proper nourishment. For instance: FFT (Failure to Thrive) is a developmental condition defined by an inability to acquire weight within acceptable ranges throughout infancy and early childhood.

Marasmus is a potentially fatal bodily disease induced by insufficient nourishment and marked by excruciating thinness.

Canalization is the propensity of genetically set growth rates to revert to genetically defined patterns following environmental change.

Anemia is a condition in which the body has a lower than a normal red blood cell count. The body produces insufficient red blood cells, or the newborn loses an excessive amount of blood.

Kwashiorkor is a kind of protein-energy malnutrition in which the body breaks down its proteins, resulting in stomach enlargement, swollen feet, and other symptoms.

Share your thoughts on the rapid sequence of development that occurs from infancy to toddlerhood

My opinions on infants and toddlers rapidly development are that it is critical to provide them with adequate nutrition due to their rapid and deep physiological changes. As previously said, physical development refers to the biological changes that children endure as they mature. Additionally, significant factors influencing the pace of physical development during infancy and toddlerhood include physical and brain changes associated with the development of reflexes, motor skills, sensations, perceptions, and learning abilities; and health concerns.
