Freedom defined in "The Constitution"

In the constitution of the United States it describes freedom as "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." These are both basic human rights and also define the freedom we are allowed here in america to live so freely. People don't pay much attention to how much freedom they really have as often as they should. All that we have today from some very intelligent men who wrote up a constitution an started everything we have today.

Freedom defined in "China Mans Chance"

In China mans chance he explains multiple sets of peoples freedom such as material "The american dream is about prosperity and material happiness." (Pg 1). Which for some people its true because they never had much when they were kids so the ability to have materials makes them feel good about their lives and security. Another type of security explained is "It is a sense of opportunity that binds generations together in commitment, so that the young inherit not only property but perseverance." (Pg 1). This higher level of thinking means the american dream or freedom is a strand that connects every generation to america its self, in the fact we can all say we earned what we worked for and deserve it from our ancestors and our hard work on this great country of ours.

Freedom defined in "Black Hair"

Freedom in the story "Black Hair" was Gary Soto's ability to work. Age 17 with a job isn't unlikely but he was homeless. His ability to work gave him new freedoms like money he could spend after working his job for a while, the ability to buy new clothes and to rent a room with a richer family. "I rented a room from a middle-aged couple whose lives were a mess." (Pg 630). The new found freedom of getting to bathe and sleep in a bed instead of on balconies is improvement He continues to make in his life, all because of his ability to have that job. That job gave him the freedom he needed ever so much.

Freedom to me is the ability to do as one pleases. Not to a chaotic sense but simple things like choosing to go to school in the morning or choosing to go buy a new car. The simple freedoms of america we all don't realize we have, Like when you get injured and you miss what you were able to do before. Freedom is exercised everyday in almost everything we do and we never really take the time to enjoy it.
