There is no right/ wrong answer, it is your personal journal. But please, no crude topics/ discussion about excessive gore or violence. No racial slurs etc either. I trust you to exercise your mature discretion on what is appropriate.

1. Written journals (typed into Padlet/ upload a photo of your hand written journal)
2. Vlog (must describe what you did, thoughts and feelings. You can choose to speak to camera or caption your videos)

For vlogs, you may choose to upload on YouTube and paste the link into Padlet. Or you may upload the videos directly to Padlet.

2021 has been a really different year for me, maybe not only me, but also worldwide.

I have fallen, struggled and trapped, yet benefited from it…
Since the year started, I have told myself that I wanted to change,
but… what type of change?

First of all, change my cowardice and timidness.
This problem has been torturing me from years to years.
It is just like having an invisible hand that strengthens my throat
at anytime, anywhere
Therefore, I try to attend as many events as possible,
Emcee for Chinese New Year, Diversity carnival, video shooting, cca leadership,
just to prove to myself that I am valuable,
I have my own strength,
at least maybe I am better than anyone in this aspect,
I can also shine.

Yeah
How irony is that?
You need to compare yourself with someone else in order to prove your worth?

“Fake it until you make it”, that's what friends keep telling me.
However, in my inner self, I don't believe this at all.
What I believe,
is that once you have the mastery, you will definitely make it no matter what.
Haha, reality is not fantasy
Maybe I’m not hard working enough
Maybe I'm not smart enough
Maybe I’m not fortunate enough

Whenever I confidently stride in the exam room,
whenever I told my friends that “ all I need is all in my head”
reality will give me a slap, a huge slap, right on my face.

Being a person who determined by grades,
I collapsed, tremendously.

I fell, struggled and trapped in the emotional breakdown.
Tears, hatred overwhelmed me,
dragging me to the endless black hole.

Several time I found myself extraordinary worthless, like a failure,
with no academic success like what others do,
with no dashing school life as if the world revolves around them.
I really admire, but at the same time, jealous.

Several times I questioned myself,
how come I can help out my friends
but I cannot pull myself out of the situation.
I dont know…
Luckily, I have friends who are willing to pull me out,
I have teachers who are willing to pull me out,
I have family members who are willing to pull me out.
Therefore, in a sense, 2021 is not so bad.

I have made a lot of new friends,
I have strived for opportunities provided,
I have stepped out of my comfort zone,

I have learned how to relax compared to last year,
I have cried fewer times compared to last year,
I have finished reading 437 pages of an English story book in my entire life!

I believe that 2022 will definitely, 100% be a lucky year for me.
I will be braver
And I promise I will strive it until I made it.

Thus, my only wish is that there will be miracles for my endless efforts.

Nothing much happened
We celebrated my mum's birthday together. It was really happy and enjoyful, we took a lot of pictures but I didn't look nice in those pictures so I didn't make a vlog haha. Also because making vlog is quite time consuming.
In addition, I meet my friend in seragoon mall! I havt seen her for 2 years and she recently past the international student test and she is going to barley secondary school! Congrats! So jealous that their school has a high field! It is just like my dream playing field...
