1.
Jobs largely done by men: post delivery, vehicle technicians, mechanics, electricians, carpenters, construction workers, firefighters, sport coaches, aerospace engineers, architects
Jobs largely done by women: communication operators, teachers, dentists, kitchen assistants, nurses, secretaries, dietitians, nutritionists, librarians, hairdressers, stylists, makeup artists, medical assistants
2. Jobs that require face-to-face interaction: Dentists, doctors, therapists, hairdressers, nurses, medical assistants, sales, sport coaches, air stewards/stewardess, pilots, pharmacists. These jobs are mostly done by women.
3. There is unfair balance between how the skills men and women have are valued. There is a stereotype around how women have different types of work skills compared to men. Furthermore, men were expected to have high positions and jobs in the past.
4. Jobs that require the least amount of education are jobs like cashiers, waiters, post delivery, cleaners. Jobs that require the most education are doctors, lawyers, aerospace engineers, dentists, architects, teachers. Doctors, lawyers, aerospace engineers, architects and post delivery are most likely to be dominated by men in the workspace. Nurses and cleaners are commonly dominated by women. Jobs that are gender neutral are jobs such as dentists, teachers and waiters.
5. Based on the statistics on the website, many jobs are being dominated by the male workforce. This shows how stereotypical contemporary societies are. Most jobs that require physical strength and scientific-based knowledge are dominated by men more than women. Jobs that require communication and interaction are mostly occupied by women.

1. Men are most likely to do jobs involving mechanics such as being vehicle technicians, mechanics and electricians (99.19% of men) and women are most likely to be employed in sectors that involve nurturing such as Nursery nurses and assistants (97.77%)

2. Sales and retailers are more likely to involve face to face interaction with customers. In this sector females make up 800,000 in the workforce compared to 500,000 for men.

3. The type of jobs that require the least amount of education involve manual labour; such as construction workers, plumbers and painters. These jobs are mainly undertaken by men as they are generally physically stronger and have more endurance (with exceptions).

4. This is due to men generally being more conscientious and looking to achieve the highest post. However more often women would choose raising their children when faced with the choice. However times are changing and so is this fact. For example the CEO of Coca cola is a women

5. More women are starting to choose their career over starting a family. This is causing a surplus of women in the work field achieving higher paying jobs.

Press Shift + Tab to navigate to chat history.
