One girl's trash really is another girl's treasure.  August has to move to a new school  because her old school has been closed.  The new school has all of the richey kids and August feels out of place.  One of the other kids dad works to condemn everyones house in August's neighborhood.  August tries to help them.
I love this book because August is such a nice girl and she never gives up.  It was also written by an author from around here.
