         <description><![CDATA[<div>Andrew was born very poor in Scotland. He attended school there, and studied Scottish history. When his father fell on hard times, his family decided to move to America, in hopes of a new beginning. His first job in America was at the age of 13 working 72 hours a week, for only 1.25 a week. In 2017 dollars, that is approximately 36 dollars a week. </div>]]></description>

He built his wealth out of loans and shares, which enabled him to build his steel company. His money smart, and keen eye for opportunity brought him to the steel industry. He created his company, and it grew immensely. In 1875 he created his first steel plant.</div>]]></description>

He worked very hard, and made an effort to make a name for himself. The people he met on the railroad helped him make his first investments, and get his foot in the door to industry. </div>]]></description>
