The Klu Klux Klan would burn crosses in front of houses

African Americans would sing many songs such as "We Shall Overcome" 

When African Americans would protest they would sometimes go on buses called freedom buses, and they were sometimes bombed or burned by whites

 People burned the freedom busses, which were  busses that they rode tor fight for freedom.

Blacks had to sit in the back of busses.
Blacks where beat in public for no reason.
Rosa Parks had to give up her seat on a bus, but refused, and was sent jail.
Martin Luther King Jr. organized peaceful protests, along with many others. 
The reason why the civil rights movement was activated was because, blacks where used as slaves in the South, and the North didn't like that. So, the North declared war on the south starting the civil war.

A lady named Rosa Parks was told to give her seat up to a white man, and she refused. Because she refused, she was arrested and sent to jail.

A group called "The Black Panther Party" stood up for black peoples civil rights.

Even if you were white and you stood up for blacks civil rights, you would receive the same punishments as the blacks would. Such as getting sprayed with fire hoses, getting beaten, ect.

Martin Luther King Jr. didn't like the civil rights movements and believed it should all stop.
Ku Klux Klan was a group that wanted to bomb and kill all black. They thought no black should be in America.
Blacks got sprayed with fir hoses, bombed, hit, got sent to jail, and got hit.
Some whites however, were on the whites side and they got sent to jail for being on their side. 
Rosa Parks wanted to make a difference, so she sat at the front of the bus where African Americans weren't aloud. She got sent to jail.
The African Americans didn't protests and if they got caught they were killed and sent to jail.
Blacks had to go to different stores, bathrooms, buses, and much more. 
African Americans got killed for talking to whites.
