Both are essential to create successful learning environments. When thinking about how schools operate we need to ensure that they are protected from outsiders (those not part of the school community) but we also need to be thinking about how to ensure that those within are schools are safe and not threatening. Drills are scheduled and the real-time experiences with crisis lend more to making improvements
