So to Accomodate for P+C we could utilise some of the students who arent parents or carers. So the uni already has a voluntary tutoring service (peer assisted learning) Why don't we extend that to The kids? It could still be treated similarly to an actual job you'd interview the human (make sure you want them around your child- or at least over a zoom/teams/skype call) It'd be interview experience as well as tutoring experience and the tiny humans get to learn. and Student P+C don't have to pay as much as they would for a normal tutor. You can review progress and if we make it mandatory that lesson plans are submitted say 2 days prior, you can ensure your child is learning what they need to learn and potentially more than they would have learnt at school?

Am currently trying to retake a module from last year, two resubmissions as well as two new modules. Homeschool 3 children one in which has an ehcp plan when at Sch. Then I have a toddler to try to entertain. I am physically drained and am trying not to give up. I am very stressed with it all and am trying to not give up. Attending lectures for 3 hrs is difficult alone when u have children in the background.

If i fail an assignment I would like to be reassured that I will be allowed an EEC without too much resistance. It's an absolute struggle to homeschool 3 children and to concentrate fully on lectures and my own assignments, run a home, cook, clean look after my pets and then the added pressure of redoing an assignment I have failed when I had already tried my best... It's enough to drive a single mother into the ground. Being a top notch academic writer does not guarantee extra success in a job role. Sometimes the best practitioners are the ones who can deal practically face to face with families rather then being the best at writing essays. With everything that is going on in this world 🌍 at the minute there is going to be an even greater need for childpractitioners therfore, we should be receiving as much support as possibl to get us through our diploma.

I have 3 children and a part time job while doing a full time degree. Upon application I asked repeatedly if this was "do-able" to several tutors who all answered "yes absolutely". Then once offered a place the course changed, then Covid happened. All of this is unavoidable however I was given a PAT that works the same days I do and one of our modules requires PAT engagement to pass, so I asked to changed due to logistics and was told UNI is the priority so it can't happen! Then there's the timetables......I understand there is going to be the odd last minute change but the timetables have NEVER been right and last minute changes are frequent due to administration & organisation errors. It's vital that these are correct for parents/careers because we need to organise our lives, childcare, work etc around the time table. I understand that this is not an issue caused by Covid, but is a long standing problem. It would be amazing if this could be raised because I'm at the point where I'm honestly considering leaving because of the friction it's causing at work and the added stress all down to an administration and communication error.
And like everyone else the Covid situation and balancing your education alongside your child's/children's is just a nightmare. Due to confidentiality we have been asked to study in a room free from children, pets, partners etc.......this is impossible when you have everyone either working from home or sharing laptops etc........I just feel more understanding and consideration should be given overall and making things accessible and easier where they can.
