I was not allowed to go anywhere and I kind of just sat at home with nothing to do. I got a bit bored at times and would just play games online with my friends most days, just waiting for schools and places to start up again. School was simple, with most Zoom calls being optional and classwork being not very complicated, and I was able to just chill out at my home. I'm pretty good working independently so I took the time to finish my work, acheive a passing grade, and relax at home for once. Every year since as long as I can remember, I always am swapped with repsonsibilities from going to school, to sports practices, to doing volunteer work, to Boyscouts, and finally I had time to just sit at home for a long period of time, and just relax. But once we went on lockdown, my gym was closed. It was nice being able to stay home at first but I began to miss having some physical excercise. But then in the middle of summer, the gym I was going to reopened, because they are a small enough local place and don't have many people going. I then started going there everyday again and I felt motivated once more. It was nice to be able to feel like I was physically bettering myself even when I wasn't allowed to play sports or go many places. It was senior sunrise that day, so I woke up super early and went to the lake. After that, I went to the gym for about an hour, a routine I now do 3 days a week because I don't have a first block. From the gym I went on home and had to figure out what the heck was going on for school. I didn't know how to join a call or where to even look. I searched around for a while trying to figure out where I was supposed to be when I finally figured it all out. From waking up early, going to the gym, then being lost with school, the day was very confusing and tiresome. People wanted to stay hopeful that we could have regular seasons this year as seniors, but it was just never going to happen. When they announced that football and basketball, the two sports I play, were being moved to next year, I was pretty disappointed. I was really looking forward not only just for the regular seasons, but especially for summer basketball because it was a great pre-season opportunity to prove myself to the coaches. But that unfortnuately didn't even get moved, just cancelled all together. I was pretty demotivated at first but then I realized that I had more time to work on myself. More time to get stronger, faster, smarter. Improve my game on my own. I was not going to let this stop me, so I told myself I need to keep going. This was by far my most ever. The two years before I only had 1 test per year. Now I had 5 times that. I was a bit stressed about the tests, but I knew I could do well. The new online format was very generous also because it was all open notes. Each tests I took I felt confident in my answers and I knew I did well after. I passed all of them even getting a couple of perfect scores. This not only made my parents happy, but it also made me proud of myself. I put the hard work and effort into studying and in the end it paid off. I chose "Warriors" because it talks about how being the person who puts in the hours to try and be the best. After the AP Tests, I felt exactly like this. This is something we love to do with eachother but had not been able to do for a while. It was nice to get to see some friends after not being allowed to go many places for a long time. I had a lot of fun and I hope I get to hang out with more people soon. Whether its these same people or just any other friends, I miss having some company around. I chose "Don't Stop Me Now" because the song is all about having a good time and brings a lot of energy and happiness with it.
