We sang, shared school prayers and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

They reflected on Jesus’ teaching in the Bible:

“A new commandment I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
— John 13:34

The children helped us think about how we can show this love through our words, our actions, and the way we care for one another—just as St Thérèse did through her “little ways” of kindness.

As we listened and reflected, we thought about how important it is to find our own “mountain moments”—times and spaces that help us pause, be still, and feel God’s presence in our lives.

This Lent, the children in our school have been invited to use our prayer spaces as their own way of drawing closer to God.

The stations focus on 4 types of prayer;

Thanksgiving

Adoration

Petition

Sorrow

Children are able to use these throughout the day, developing their relationship with God.

“Give all your worries to God, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

We talked about how we all have worries sometimes, big or small, and how God invites us to share them with Him. When we talk to God in prayer, we are reminded that we are never alone – God is always with us, listening and caring for us.

The Faith Council helped us to pray together and remember that all our feelings matter to God. Whether we feel happy, calm, worried or upset, God loves us just as we are and helps us to make kind choices with our words and actions.

As we go through the week, let us remember to give our worries to God, care for ourselves, and look out for one another, trusting that God’s love is always there for us.

The children did so well, all speaking clearly , singing beautifully and joining in with prayer.

The day began with a beautiful whole school Celebration of the Word, where we reflected on the story of Pentecost. We explored how the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and enabled to speak to people of all nations, reminding us that God’s love is universal and brings us together as one family.
