Stand out: The word HOPE in capital letters stands out to me on the poster.

Suggestion: Obama is telling potential voters that he will restore and bring hope to make the United States better as president.

Questions: How exactly is he bringing hope to his campaign?

Change: This is propaganda to encourage you vote for him by saying that doing so will make America a greater place to live. He's promising hope.

One example is with a lot of important presidents and leaders around the world all burning signs talking about climate change. This suggests that people in power don't care about the planet and while they can work to fix this issue they either can't or don't want to for some reason. And I struggle to see why they would want to make the world that much worse for their kids down the line. Finally it pushes that we need to stop this line of thought and actually do something

The titles and pictures made situations look extreme and raised questions about context. These messages push people to react quickly and emotionally. We shared our examples and notes on Padlet and read other groups’ posts too.

I have Always loved this one. Its a positive propaganda trying to get more females to join the military. I served with females in the Navy and they out worked some of the guys if not more than some. probably because they had to, because so many people had negative stereotypes about females joining the military back when this first came out.

The images suggests clearly who is welcome to the American Dream, white americans. I wonder why this piece of propaganda is only targeted for white americans instad of other races and identities when this is known as 'the land of opportunity," yet they only include white americans, so there is a lack of diversity. This propaganda suggests that American government wants to go back to a time where Americans have jobs and have freedom for 'all.'

https://propaganda.mediaeducationlab.com/rate/take-survey

This is a more disguised piece of propaganda in where a survey was sent out asking for your opinions. This propagandas main message is that the presidential candidate Donald Trump will 'save america.' seeing this. What also stands out to me is that the text above it says "Trump needs YOU..." which reminded me a lot about the WW1 USA propaganda whith the picture of uncle Sam pointing and saying "I want you for the U.S. Army" This raises the question of what will this candidate do to 'save america?" and will it be effective for everyone? This propaganda declares change in America to make it 'better.'

In the video, there was a Jewish boy getting pushed in the hallway at school, he opened his locker and was greeted with the note “Dirty Jew” then, a black kid came over and put a blue sticky note over it, covering the message to symbolize that he cares about the kid. Lastly, text comes up on the screen, “2 in 3 Jewish teens have experienced antisemitism”.

1) The message suggests that Jews need help, that we must show that we care. Antisemitism is real, but it oversimplifies this idea because it doesn’t explain how and the timing of the video was during the Super bowl, I actually watched this advertisement when it came up yesterday. It’s a bit insensitive to other problems that are also going on today, like the ICE raids that are taking peoples lives, taking them from their families as we speak. A blue sticky note representing that you care about Jewish people also won’t help with the antisemitism that they face.

2) It’s saying that we must take action to help Jewish people

3) I also believe there’s a lot of propaganda because the only person of color in that advertisement was a black kid, and he was the only one who saw the Jewish kids note and wanted to help. Whenever there’s a cause going on, a lot of companies end up exploiting and looking to black people to use them as the source of encouragement and action. Although there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, the constant pressure that black people have to “fix” other minorities problems can be harmful. It’s the bandwagon effect.

I found an image of Uncle Sam reacting to global issues. As can be seen, he is perfectly okay with the violence and protest in Hong Kong, China; however, when it is BLM protesting within the same nature, he can be seen saying that the "Thugs" should be shot. This political cartoon emphasizes the prominent hypocrisy. As a society, we pick and choose which issues deserve our emotions and engagement when we need a broader sense of awareness, and we acknowledge that there are political, social, economic, and racial issues happening all around us.

Trust what's inside android." The image shows a shadow of a hand reaching for a rotten apple with a bite taken out of it. The point of the image is to convince viewers to buy android, as opposed to apple, by comparing apple products to rotten apples, which people know are bad to eat. The viewer will make the connection in their mind that rotten apples are bad to eat, so buying apple products must also be bad.
