The spainish was wrong in my opinion because they forced the leader of the Incas to give them gold and not giving him freedom. Maybe if they showed what the Bible was in the first place thing I think would have ended differently. Apart of me think that the Inca leader was also wrong because the religious offense he said when the Spanish showed him the Bible. The Incas didn’t have guns and they didn’t know how to cure the infected and didn’t have any steel, that made the Spanish get the advantage and took over the Incas land.

We think the this video or documentary was good information about what it was like back then for the Indians when they encountered other cultures and races. The documentary was also very informational about the way the English men came in and they change everyone's culture from worshipping an Indian god to Christianity.
The way that most of the Indians died from diseases surprised me and how the diseases whipped out 95% of the 20 million Indians in that land. The documentary helped me understand that back then the men didn't want to make bonds with people they just wanted to be at the top and rule everything and be the richest out of everyone.

Europeans use their animals as food, work, clothing, medicine, and others," which gives them a greater advantage then the Native Americans. And I also believe is they had explained what the Bible was then maybe things would have been different and in some ways the Incas leader is wrong in some parts like the religious offense he said when the Spanish were talking to him about the Bible. The Incas also did not have any weapons likes guns and stuff and most importantly in my opinion at least they did not know how to cure people that were sick

The episode of “ Guns, Germs, and Steel” was very informative. I like how the show went into detail how much of a disadvantage the Incas were at when it came to reading and writing, whereas the Spaniards could mass produce books and it gave Cortez the power to study pas battles against the Incas/ Natives. Italso demonstrated how different life for the spaniards vs the Incas, like having beards, wearing helmets that looked like cooking pots to the Incas, and growing up living with farm animals such as swine and cows, which built immunities for the Spaniards and causing unintentional bio-warfare against the natives.

Guns, horses, and steel weapons helped with the battle of Cajamarca, the Spanish victory was mainly due to the fact that the inca were essentially a parade. The Spanish then just captured the leader and everyone was to scared and dying of smallpox to do anything.

For example the native populations weren't exposed to a written language, nor were they exposed to guns and steel. That put them at a disadvantage and weakened them when it came to battle.

While I knew that they used bronze weaponry, I did not know whether the weapons used were spears, swords, or something else. I was surprised that the Spanish were so offended at Atahualpa's rejection of the Bible. Did the Spanish not realize that the Inca had no written language?

Great Question- its hard to tell from the documentary, my guess is that they would not have that knowledge at that time and would assume they could read and write.

Fencing with the sword sounded very intriguing. The outfits were also interesting especially with the sword being in their daily wear, because each century has a a trend, such as swords and today we have smart phones. It was surprising that 95% of the Inca’s people died. The disease was alarming, because it broke out throughout most of their nation, and numerous people got sick and died and was a partical cause of the Incas species near slaughter of their kind.

Since the Spanish had guns and swords they acted better in battle because they had these weapons. The Inca had never seen them before so they also didn’t know what to expect. It also shows how a civilization that has more experience with diseases will be able to survive better. I think that since the Spanish had more advantages it was much easier for them to win in battle.

The video was good mainly because of how descriptive it was. Jared Diamond was able to show how things worked and the degree of their effectiveness. A specific example of this was when he showed how a musket worked and when he shot it which showed how frightened people would be if they had never seen or heard it before. Another example was when he showed how the conquistadors rode their horses which gave them the ability to slice and jab their foes while still having agility and as comfortable as someone could be while riding a horse and stabbing people with a sword.
.
