Lyrics 2 Learn is a K-5th grade reading comprehension and reading support program. Lyrics 2 Learn's approach is to close the reading gap of ESL students, students on IEP's, and other students struggling with reading. Research has shown that just using the program 3 times a week improves students reading skills. Lyrics2Learn is also engaging for students and appeals to different styles of learning. Overall, I think this is a great resource to implement in a K-5 classroom to excite students while boosting reading achievement!
Link found below:

Starfall is an app that allows students to interact and have fun with learning! Starfall encourages students to read and increase their math skills. This program can be used for students in grades K-3. Starfall has a lower cost membership and really appeals to students that receive special-education services as well as ELL students. Students love playing the games while they are learning a lot of reading skills and great vocabulary!

ABC Mouse is a great way for students in K-2 to interactively practice math, reading, science, and art skills. I have students use this app during reading centers if they are not using Raz-Kids. The program follows a step-by-step learning path where students reach different levels as they achieve lessons. There are books for students to read, math games to reinforce numbers and counting, and the social studies and science curriculum concepts. Students are able to learn by playing games, listening to songs, reading books, and doing puzzles. There are also free-print outs that teachers or parents could provide the child with! Not a free source but again, a lot of schools do have a subscription!
Link found below:

Raz Kids is resource students can use for reading. The app is typically used for students in grades K-5. It has hundreds of interactive and leveled books. I love using this app as a reading center. The students have the option to read the words on their own, or the book can read the words to them while the student follows along. My students love this because they are able to feel independent. For students that are unable to read higher level books this is a great source so they are still able to access grade-level material! It is not a free source but a lot of schools have an account.

Link found below:

Flocabulary is one of my favorites! Flocabulary takes a term that might be hard for students to understand and puts it into a R&B or Rap song for students to listen to. It is not only funny and engaging for students but it provides them with great insight on different literature styles and grammatical concepts. For example, my students were having a hard time understanding adjectives. After putting the Flocabulary video on, they were able to understand it more efficiently. The songs are catchy and break the concepts down into simpler terms for students (and sometimes myself) to understand! It is not free but there is a free trial.
Link found below:

I love EPIC and I also use it for my reading centers when I want to switch things up. Students are able to access thousands of books at different levels. The program is meant for students 12 and younger. This is low-cost for at home use. The program charges 7.99 for access to over 35,000 books. There are also videos and quizzes that students can take to ensure and increase comprehension. The books are also translated to Spanish and other languages if needed!

Link is found below:

Bulb is a Digital Portfolio app that allows students (and teachers) to create and show-off their ideas! You are able to create a free account. Students are able to use it anywhere and on any device. Students or parents are able to add whatever content they want and Bulb helps put the work into a professional looking portfolio. The user is able to sign on through Microsoft and/or Google and it can be integrated with Google Classroom. Bulb also protects your information so no one else can see it. I would recommend this for students in Grade 3-12!
Link is found below:

Ed Puzzle is engaging and self-paced which is great for reaching students at different academic levels and learning styles. Teachers can have students watch videos from Youtube, Khan Academy, etc. without all the annoying pop-ups that Youtube provides. On Ed Puzzle students are not allowed to skip through the video and the teacher can reinforce students to keep watching or ask them questions to check comprehension! This is free for students and teachers to use.
Link found below:
