Genetics in medical field:

Summary:

Genetics is the study of heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics.Genetics can be applied to the medical field in a number of ways. Medical genetics enabled us to improve lifestyle of humans. It helped in diagnosing many conditions.Genetic characteristics of a person may help predict response to treatments. For example, metabolism of warfarin is determined partly by variants in genes for the CYP2C9 enzyme and for the vitamin K epoxide reductase complex protein 1. Genetic- and genomic-based interventions and information can be used to improve
clients’ outcomes.

There is no doubt in saying that genetics will play a major role in the near future. So there is a need to lift the standard of genetics all over the world. Children who are the future must be introduced to the topic of genetics in their schooling. Development in the field of medical genetics ensures us a better life, this can be seen that sudy of genetics enabled us to perform tests on animals and also transplanting organs of animals to humans and so on.

GENETICS IN AGRICULTURE AND
ENVIRONMENT

SUMMARY

Genetics is very useful in agriculture with its wide range of
applications.Genetically modified crops have diversified uses and some
controversial effects also.

Advantages:

1,Increasing crop yield.

2, Provide protection from environmental threats.

3,Resistance to crop damaging fungus.

4.Increase in milk production.

5.Accelerating crop growth.

6.Increasing nutritional values of food and many more.

DISADVANTAGES:

1.Effects tropical and temperature diversity.

2. It could raise new allergy outbreaks in humans

3. The ethical and moral objections which religion has to
these techniques.etc

Finally genetic engineering in agriculture has many advantages
and some disadvantages too.If we use genetics for good cause it will be boon
for mankind or else it may become curse to makind.

We conclude by saying that genetics is the tool which can have a major impact on our future. Development in this field ensures us a better future. We can also contribute by sharing the knowledge we have about genetics with our friends and also by motivating people to learn about genetics by enlightening them the importance of genetics.

Stem cells are the self renewing cells, they can
develop into any tissue or organ. This could aid in the treatment of many medical
problems such as repair of damaged kidney or heart tissue or nerve tissue. Many
diseases like the Parkinson’s disease result due to damaged cells, if the stem
cells could be used to replace these malfunctioning cells, normal function can
be restored.Unfortunately, the days of customized stem cells, stem cell
therapies are still in the future. So if research is done to develop this
particular area it would lead to a better life.

The answer to various problems like diseases and inherited traits lies in the research of human genetics.

Trait inheritance and molecular inheritance mechanisms of genes are still a primary principle of genetics.

2) Who is the father of genetics?

The father of genetics is Gregor Mendel, a late 19th-century scientist and Augustinian friar. Mendel studied 'trait inheritance', patterns in the way traits were handed down from parents to offspring. He observed that organisms (pea plants) inherit traits by way of discrete "units of inheritance". This term, still used today, is a somewhat ambiguous definition of what is referred to as a.
