1) I observed that they are enthusiastic about participating in the DIY castanets activity and many are proactive in designing their castanets. I also realized that each individual has different attention spans and responsiveness towards instructions and stimuli.

2) I hope to be able to better interact with them and keep them more engaged in the activities and games.

3) I think that encouraging and guiding the beneficiaries has enabled them to complete and enjoy the arts and crafts activity more.

4) NA

1) I think the beneficiaries' high levels of patience could be seen through how they glued the bottle caps to the cardboard strip. Even though the bottle caps kept dropping after gluing them on, none of them complained and simply tried over and over again. I think this is very admirable.

2) I hope to be more open with them and initiate more conversations.

3) I think spending time with them creating the artwork and playing games brought smiles and laughs for them.

4) NA

The way I was impacted by the session is how friendly and bubbly the kids were, and their positive energy rubbed off on me. It was a good reminder to bring positivity wherever I go.

Through this session, I learnt how to communicate with children of this age group (sec 1) better, and had a better understanding of different types of disabilities and how to engage with them in a meaningful manner. One example I can give is when I was teaching a group of three of how to play pool, I realised that even though I was teaching the same game, I had to use different strategies to explain to them as they had varying abilities in motor skills and comprehension.

It was overall very fulfilling and enriching and I’m glad we were able to bring joy and value add to the children in our short time there.

Hope to see 2 future 8 ball pool stars from Grace Orchard school.

1) I think the beneficiaries have great passion for their own hobbies and are not shy to share with us when we ask them.

2) One improvement could be having more time allocated to the icebreaker session. I think the time allocated was not sufficient and it was slightly hard to get to know everyone before proceeding to the art session

3) I think seeing them having fun and being happy while taking part in the art session, made me feel that I made a positive impact.
