Henry Higgins: Mr. Higgins is a different person. He doesn't treat women right. He liked to bribe people with his money, such as he paid Eliza father to take full custody over her. He also likes to show everything off that he has. He is so selfish. He just basically thinks about himself.
Eliza Doolittle: Eliza is a poor, she sold flowers before Higgins picked her up on the streets. Her speaking is very hard to understand. But after Higgins, Pickering, and Mrs. Pearce helped her with talking. She was able to talk really fluently. She was also taught how to be more like a lady, dress like a lady, and speak more professional.
Colonel Pickering: He was a person in the play that understood Eliza. He was always there to talk to her when she was having a rough time. He understood how she was feeling, when she didn't know how to express her feelings. He also helped Eliza when she was changing into a lady. He helped her react to others (like with her feelings).
Mrs. Pearce: Mrs. Pearce was the only one that could change or help Eliza into a lady. She helped Eliza with how she should dress, talk more like a lady, act like a lady, how to sit like a lady and just the basic things that a lady needs to know. She is also a housekeeper, but when Eliza came in the picture she took the time to help Higgins and Pickering change her.

Summary:

The play started out raining. There were a lot of people out and about but since it was raining a lot of them gathered in front of a church in London's Covent Garden market. There is this girl and her name is Eliza. She sells flowers and trouble starts around her when people start asking questions about her. She doesn't like all of the questions being asked so she tends to freak out a bit. People start getting suspicious about this guy in the corner. He is just standing there taking notes. They thought that he may have been a cop or maybe a stalker of some sort. He then comes over to Eliza and is very rude to her by telling her to shut up and everything, then he comes to a conclusion of giving her some money. Since she was selling flowers, but he is basically bribing her to quiet. Eliza ends up going to Mr. Higgins house the next morning and Higgins lets her in. She discuss what happens but the very first thing to happen was that she need to shower and bathe. All Higgins wants her is for to change how she is. Higgins had paid Eliza father into giving Higgins full custody of her. Higgins begins working with her over and over saying words to help her speak better. It seems its not working at first, but then after saying it for so long she caught on and began talking normal. Higgins then wanted to take everything to the test. He wanted to take her to a party. He tells Eliza that the only things that she can talk about are weather and other peoples health. She has to be on her best behavior. After Eliza has caught on to what Higgins is using her for she gets so mad. She was asked to bring him his slippers she just ends up coming to him and just throwing them at his face and storming out. She just wants to get out of Higgins house. She hates it there she finally realizes that he treats her with no respect and just using her she doesn't like that fact. Eliza ends up running away during the night she goes back up to where she was when the play started. She goes there because that reminds her from when she sold flowers. She then returns to Mrs. Higgins house and talks to her in the morning, and wants nothing to do with Mr. Higgins. Eliza had finally realized what kind of person Mr. Higgins is!

1) My first conflict would be when Eliza didn't know how to talk and Mr. Higgins took her in possession. She didn't like the fact that Mr. Higgins was trying to change her. He tried changing how she talked, how she should do everything. He had lots of people help him transform her into such a perfect lady,. She didn't like the way

2) Another conflict was that she didn't know what to do with herself when she was a lady. She was first in the low class, but then when Mr Higgins changed her she was now in the Upper class. She didn't think that she belongs in the Upper class because she doesn't know how to act properly like a lady! She just felt wrong because she was originally in the lower class but then she got transformed into an upper class lady. She didn't like the idea of being an Upper Class girl.

Mr. Higgins: He is an Upper class man. He is really rich and sassy and thinks he knows everything. So with him being rich, thinks he knows everything, just all the things like that, he treats people like they are so much lower than him. He treats them with no respect.
Pickering: He is just a kind person overall. When Eliza was still a flower girl he didn't treat her with bad respect like other people did. Also when Higgins brought her into the house he was there to comfort her and help her with her problems. He was the only one that understood Eliza from the beginning. Pickering just being nice in the play put a good mood when he was speaking. He is just an overall very nice guy.
Eliza: She was a a person that didn't know how to react to things. She was poor at the beginning so that gave her a different feeling from when she went home with Higgins. When Higgins said he wanted to change her and she had to learn all of these new ways she didn't know what to do. She liked the way she was before she got transformed. Her getting transformed made her kind of get sassy. Because things were not going her way, and she didn't think she belong in the upper class but then she absolutely didn't belong in the lower class. She just didn't know where she belonged. Then Higgins always hounding her to learn new words and to act was also hard on her because it put stress on her all the time. Having stress on her all the time just made her to become a sassy person and seemed grouchy because she didn't like the place she was in.

The play and the movie were boring for me. They both didn't catch my attention. I think the play was just so long for me to read and I just couldn't get into reading it. But after we would talk about it in class I go more interested in it. The movie just seemed old. I'm not a fan to watch old time movies.
