"Look At Us"- Vince Gill

Album: Pocket Full of Gold (1991).

"Look at us" by Vince Gill was a song I heard as a young girl on the television and radio stations and it always gave me goosebumps when I listened to it. I loved the lyrics in the song as well as the video because it was about people who are truly in love and always came together no matter what life through at them. When I got married, I knew exactly what song to use. My husband and I have been together since junior high and we got married July 29, 2000. This song connects with me at all levels because it speaks to my heart and walks me through all the memories me and my husband have shared over the last 20 years. I can't wait to play it at our 25th anniversary which is 12 years away.

Beat- The beat is steady throughout the entire song and follows the rhythm patterns. Its such a relaxing and heart-warming song.

Tempo- The song begins with a slow pace (adagio) and during midpoint of the song, it picks up just a bit (accelerando) then goes back down (adagio).

Metre- I would say that this song is a 2/4 metre because it sounds like two beats in a measure.

Rhythm- The song starts offwith an introduction that is short and brief until the singing begins. Once the singing begins, the rhythm of the song is following along with the slow and steady beats throughout the whole song.

Harmony: The sounds of the musical notes are slow, steady and warm. There are more than one instrument playing at the same time so harmony is evident. I think it may be polyphonic because it sounds like a rhythmic ostinato accompaniment.

Timbre: There are more than one instrument playing. I can hear a guitar, possibly a non-pitched percussion instrument, and drums. I can tell the difference because their sounds are different from one another.
