One of the main causes of the Civil War was slavery. The South's economy depended on slaves, however the North began to feel that slaves weren't right, so the the north and south began to argue.

California

The Kansas-Nebraska Act

The Louisiana Purchase had two more territories, Nebraska and Kansas. The decision was made to have a vote on whether or not these states would have slavery, so many southerners moved to these states to make it a slave state.

Trans-Continental Railroad

John Brown
