INVIDIVUALIZED
-some - creative, complex
-others - simple, straight to the point
-Learning is.... different person than you were before you learned it... you've grown - task has to be meaningful, authentic, and relevant TO YOU  - personalized, relevant (timely), 
-can be uncomfortable
-not always continuous (stuff happens)
-create a system of growth despite all the dysfunction in their lives
-Central kids need to see their learning 

Questions: 
-how do we show them that they've grown?  Socially?  Emotionally?  
-how to we get the accountability piece there?  Have to know when to hold them accountable.  Ownership

-isn't linear

-learn by experiencing compassion from others
