I was born on the East Coast, but I've called Arizona home for most of my life. And I can't imagine living anywhere else. I have four busy children of my own. Most of my evenings are spent watching them dance or play football/volleyball. I've spent the last 20 years working in the private sector. However, teaching has always been my passion. I strongly believe classrooms should be fun, engaging, and innovative. I love to motivate students to become the absolute best versions of themselves and to find their voice. When I'm not grading papers, I love reading and traveling with my kids. I'm also very involved in my local church.

I've spent time in the classroom substitute teaching, but due to some recent life changes, found myself in need of a career, and not just part time work. I was able to leverage some relationships and get a position teaching fourth grade at Meridian Elementary School, a Gilbert Public School. So far, I think we're off to a great start. Though, I'm struggling a bit with classroom management and classroom organization. So, this course has come at a really great time for me!

Student: So I asked my dad something, but I don't believe his answer, you know, because he's not a teacher. So can you tell me...is there more than one solar system?
Me: Yes, your dad is right. There are hundreds.
Student: Dang it!
