         <description><![CDATA[<div>The phenomenon of telemedicine did not arise in our lives due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it was in the last two years that this sector has become more relevant than ever before. Social distance, which is one of the key conditions for the prevention of COVID-19, is the main constituent element in telemedicine since the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients by medical specialists is done remotely using telecommunication technologies. The use of this approach can be traced back to the previous decades; however, it has been sporadic and limited due to the high cost and complexity of the equipment. Initially, telemedicine was most often used for consultations between general practitioners and their more specialized colleagues situated in remote locations, such as medical centers or campuses away from rural or hard-to-reach populations. The situation has changed due to the wide and ubiquitous spread of the Internet. The creation of communication devices capable of providing high-quality communications, both audio and video, has provided tremendous opportunities for remote patient assistance at home, in the workplace, or nursing homes.<br>https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16539750/</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>he information, including the telemedicine services’ further development, is one of the main tasks of the Public Health modernization and further development in Russia. So, the mobile telemedicine complexes (MTMC) have a number of their specific advantages in the transition to the electronic services mass use [1]. In particular, the MTMC use is practically allowed to be overcome the telemedicine introduction challenges in the Public Health primary link in the remote areas .&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp;The MTMC – these are the hardware – hardware complexes, having placed on the transport vehicle, and intended for the medical information exchange with the referral center, using the wireless communication&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; Some MTMC models are practically contained only telecommunication units without any medical blocks that it is quite possible to be used them only, as the means of videoconferencing (VСС) during the tele-consultations conducting, and also for the tele-educational arrangements. The other models, in contrast, are allowed to be transferred the necessary medical data, that it is used at the distant diagnostics, but they are not intended for the visual communication between the physicians.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Tele-education has been used for many years to deliver continuing education programmes to rural health-care professionals. The main modes are audio, video and computer. Audio technologies involve the transmission of the spoken word (voice) between learners and instructors, either synchronously or asynchronously. Examples of the former include audioconferencing and short-wave radio; examples of the latter include audiotape or audiocassette. Video for distance learning, like audio, can be used in either synchronous or asynchronous fashion. Videoconferencing, or interactive television, are considered synchronous because there is the opportunity for live visual and verbal interaction between instructors and learners. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Telehealthcare interventions for long‐term asthma</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>sthma is a common condition, affecting an estimated 300 million people worldwide. Its symptoms include cough, breathlessness, wheeze and associated limitation in activity.<br><br></div><div>Increases in the prevalence of long‐term conditions such as asthma are presenting considerable challenges to health services internationally and traditional models of healthcare are struggling to cope. Emerging information and communication technologies (ICTs) have the potential to ameliorate some of the challenges being posed through enabling and supporting patient care at a distance. Collectively termed 'telehealthcare' services, these interventions include the use of the telephone, videoconferencing, text‐message (also known as Short Message Service, SMS), instant messaging, email and the Internet to facilitate remote patient monitoring and decisions on care by healthcare professionals.<br><br></div><div>The potential benefits of telehealthcare include greater accessibility for patients, reduced time and cost expenditure associated with travelling, earlier detection of disease exacerbations and associated reduced risk of hospital admissions for asthma. These interventions are, however, not without risk and it is therefore important to study the effectiveness of such telehealthcare initiatives rigorously.<br><br></div><div>We undertook a systematic review of the literature, searching for randomised controlled trials that have either been published or are in progress, which studied the impact of telehealthcare on asthma outcomes.<br><br></div><div>Our searches identified a large body of trial evidence and also a substantial body of work in progress. This revealed that telehealthcare initiatives are unlikely to be of benefit in improving quality of life for the majority of people with relatively mild asthma, but that these interventions may prove useful in preventing exacerbations and hospital admissions in people with more severe asthma. We believe it is important for more research to be done to establish the cost‐effectiveness of these interventions<br><br></div>]]></description>
