In this chapter Pausch talks about how complaining doesn't get you any where. Then he gives two example of non complainers. He talked about his old land lord and how he got into an accident that left him disabled, how he was able to change his life for the better. He also talked about Jackie Robinson and how he verbally abused by fans of baseball all because he was African american and how he didn't let that get to his head and used them as motivation.

"I have always believed that if you took one tenth the energy you put into complaining and applied it to solving the problem, you'd be surprised by how well things can work out." (138)

Pausch is saying that if you stop complaining about an issue you have and try to fix it that you might be able to fix your problem faster.

" Complaining does not work as a strategy. We have finite time and energy. Any time we spend whining is unlikely to help us achieve our goals. And it won't make us happier."(139)

Pausch says that complaining will just wast our time and will not justify the incident.

"My favorite non-complainer of all time may be Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball. He endured racism that many young people today couldn't even fathom. He knew he had to work harder. So that's what he did. He vowed not to complain, even if fans spit on him."(139)

Pausch is giving an example of a non-complainer. He is saying that a the american baseball Jackie Robinson was able to endure a lot of racist remarks/ action just because he was a different color, but he never complained and turned it into motivation to successes.

I agree with what Pausch has to say in this chapter because complaining is a waste of time an will get you no where and if you put that time into overcoming that it could set you up for success.
