So basically, I feel like this drawing properly represents me because there is so much going on. I love making things that have a ton of detail, abstract in some parts with a little “edge” to it. My drawings are usually the outcome of releasing emotional stress, so sometimes I like to let that show through as well.

This is the perfect example of my aesthetic since this is a photo I am very proud of. I am very interested in portrait photography as well as street Art so the combination of both really peaked my creativity in this moment as my daughter and I were doordashing the SF area while awaiting the TwentyOne Pilots concert at the Chase center. I love impromptu, on the spot photography and this Graffiti art was so gracefully placed on the side of the restaurant we were waiting on. I also love her expression and how large the piece is compared to her. She tries to perceive herself as a “tough cookie” so I felt this background fit her personal aesthetic which allowed her to naturally give me quite a bit of poses and expressions that she does not normally express.

In this painting, for example, the use of cool colors brings a sense of calm and even a bit of sadness.

It's difficult, if not impossible to choose one image to present as 'my personal aesthetic'. For the sake of this exercise I chose this small painting on wood by Margaret Kilgallen. She was a major figure in the SF Mission School which is a street Art Movement in the '90s.
I'm drawn to the history of this artwork as a San Franciscan. I appreciate the simplicity of the design with it's restricted palette of red and white. The narrative of the artist with her tools appeals to my own experience.

I think my art is a complete contrast from how I look and my own personal style. I tend to lean towards darker tones when it comes to clothes, but for art it’s a completely different situation. I love bold colors, anything that contrasts and clashes are my favorite. Also my love for oddities and weirdly proportionate things from life definitely translate to my art. I’ve always loved creating pieces that leave people questioning the artist’s mind.

I chose this painting as my personal aesthetic because I've always loved floral designs and pictures, and the color pallet is one that I would use for my own pieces. Usually, I tend to create art using more mellow and muted color pallets, with lots of whites and pinks as they are my favorites. With this piece, the colors complement each other well and to me it creates a sense of peaceful silence, which I like the most.

I always convey a form of confidence within myself as illustrated within this image. When ever I want to present my authentic self to others. The reason I am drawn to this type of art is because of the shading and textures that convey a strong form of visual story telling to the viewer. This is what I would like to express within my art.

Hello My name is Michelle Rodriguez G and I am very excited to be in this class and able to learn about art because I'm not very good at art and I never couldn’t do art or know about art but in this class I will help me know the art and try my best to do art. Art is passion for people because artists paint what they feel, see, touch or even imagine and for me art comes from how you imagine and express those feelings you have inside and spread around the world. Art goes from your emotion to what you feel. Many people draw for fun or they want to art for something or they do art from emotion. I saw this artist named Frida Kahlo and it caught my attention and this art had emotion and this made me sad. Frida Kahlo couldn't accomplish her life so she had an abortion and lost the baby at three months of pregnancy. Art is life for those people who have feelings and can't express it, so they do art to take those emotions out of them. So This year I know it will be fun and I hope I will learn new things in Two Dimensional Design.

This is some poster art I did in my senior year of highschool. This poster incorporated a mixture of photo manipulation and also some hand drawn elements. The top of the head was all drawn out by me and scanned in. The body/t shirt was from a photo I took at a "White Lie" party of some random person. I took inspiration from skater brand posters for this. As far as the scary creature I took inspiration from Demogorgon's in Stranger Things. Inside of all the swirls of his head is supposed to be a brain. This art displays my aesthetic because I love edgy/creepy art. Art that looks out of the ordinary and gives off a creepy feel. I'm also a huge fan of skating so skate posters/art has always been a huge inspiration in my creative process.

I have always loved watching cartoons and over the years the style has changed. I've been drawing since I could remember, and I know my personal aesthetics might seem a bit different. I have always wanted to explore all types of art and the many styles of art that are made. In this picture am showing my process on how I draw traditional art and I have been slowly getting into digital art as well, but I first started in traditional art. I have started reading and looking at comic book art and I love the small details whether it be in black and white or in color, the different ways of shading with black and white and shading in color. The details in the face expressions and the same goes with digital art as well whether it be in black and white or in color. The amount of detail within both digital and traditional art and is why it inspires me. I hope that through this semester and after I will learn a lot in this class and explore all the many different ways of art and style.

I like this painting as my personal aesthetic because it's the biggest walking contradiction on the planet; the dreamy pastel beaches, and pixie colors clash with Edvard's nihilistic angst wearing all black. (at least from this variation in 1894, as they're others from 1891-93) the fairytale colors are just a façade to hide munch's nihilistic, existential dread. like Louis Armstrong's lighthearted what a wonderful world, over napalm bombings in 'nam. how relatable it is to mask your existential dread with Alice and wonderland, or my neighbor Totoro paintings. the cheery colors do not match munch's sulking.

I chose this image because of the contrast in the art styles and the use of color. Up until recently, I've incorporated color into my drawings in an effort to reach what I truly want to express in my drawings since I have always drawn without color in the past. I am not a painter, I prefer to use pencils or my computer, as I am also a graphic design student, to best express my ideas. This piece shows graphic design aspects, as well as those in classical art, and these two styles, are who I am.

Hello I'm Lilianna I am a studio arts major at SJCC I am looking forward to transfer to a 4 year university by spring. I really enjoy all art and I enjoy working with art but I love working with media the most. The media I usually use are like paints, pencils, and charcoal whether it would be vine, powdered charcoal, compressed charcoal and charcoal pencil. I chose the artwork above because I really love how creative the design is and how it shows a story. It's a modern artwork of contemporary themes and innovative artistic styles with the realms of both design and fine art that was made in Chile and around the globe. I really enjoy modern artwork with this kind of themes and especially with the artwork above.

I really like pieces where you can see the lines drawn or painted within the drawing. You can really feel the presence of the artist within every part of it being painted. It leaves an impression to me and allows to me to connect to what art is conveying and the artist themselves. I like to create pieces myself to leave an impression to my audience. Weather it's one that gives of a grand epic scale that leaves you feeling in awe or a somber tone that makes you feel more sad. That's what I hope to develop in this class as I progress to leave more of an impression with my pieces and allow the viewer to connect with my piece.

My personal aesthetic would probably be early Louis Wain cat paintings. Louis Wain had a love for cats as his mental health worsened. He excessively studied them and get them humanoid personalities. His cartoon-like art style is unique and one I am always inspired of. The backgrounds can also be just as unique, sometimes using strange shapes and colors; other times making realistic backgrounds. This painting is one of my favorite paintings as the cats expression and pose give it a confused, but bewildered look. The background is full of color and shapes making it a strange, but unique look. I love to give my art soft colors with soft feel. Animals are my favorite thing to draw as they are much more expressive and lovelier to draw.

Even though it gets a little foggy or I am a bit gloomy i will try to look at all the beautiful things life has to offer. Amongst all that rain, its still possibly to see the glimpses of color.

I picked this art because I like the color harmony of this picture, The purple of the lanterns floating in the dark space of the room made me feel so peaceful. The image also shows that I always notice paintings with similar tones like this. I always have these tones on my electronic devices as wallpaper. I feel it is always highly artistic.

I chose this image is because I love the autumn season aesthetics. This background painting was featured in the episodic miniseries called over the garden wall which is heavily influenced by the autumn season. Incorporate some elements of Halloween and Thanksgiving with 18th century architecture. There is somethings so soothing about seeing oil pastel autumn paintings. I think this painting shows that I love art that captures and the mood and feel of nature.

Hello everyone, I'm Athell Pastora. If the name's troubling you, you can call me "Alex" as that's part of my middle name "Alexander". What you're seeing is a piece that I made in my 7th grade art class. A cubist painting inspired by Pablo Picasso. I'm putting this here because back then I was very pessimistic of how I make my pieces but when I finished this piece and my classmates got to look at it, they all said it was really good, and my art teacher even said that my piece was her favorite. That made me feel really good about myself making art. But as grew older, I realized that using paint to make pieces is a lot more complicated than I thought. So from then on, I used pencils, bit of charcoal and graphite here and there, to make my pieces. But I still cherish this piece that I made in 7th grade.

I love art. I have always believed that the purpose of art is to cause any type of emotion to be experienced from a viewer. Some art especially culturally related can make you feel honored, proud, and even powerful. Unfortunately sometimes people don't share the same points of views. If there's a certain type of art that makes me feel more than anything it's Chicano/Mexican artwork. This mural I chose was painted over with without the consent of the artist. My main medium is photography and all that is left of this painting is pictures and that's what I love most about photographs they can eternalize anything.

In my own humble opinion, the film could have been a lot better, but the art blew my mind. To this day, I am impressed with the art style that was delivered. I believe that the artist drew a lot of inspiration from the Star Wars franchise. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
