Then in 1769,an inventor named Nicholas Joseph Cugnot built a carriage that moved on 3 wheels with a big boiler. Other inventors had different ideas for power. The first battery powered vehicle was invented in 1830, By 1900 electric cars were popular, quiet, and don't smell. In the 1880s, 2 German inventors  had an idea. It changed cars forever, separately, they both built new vehicles with a gasoline engine. They could go fast, they cost up to $2,000, Henry Ford changed that, he built a car that cost up to $260. He sold them very cheaply because he had a quicker way to make them. This shows how people traveled through time.
